PRESENT — He Is Always With Us
Our lesson began with a simple but powerful reminder:
“I will never leave you; I will always be by your side.” — Hebrews 13:5
We read about Winnie, a girl who was training a nervous Mustang named Sam. When Winnie realized she needed help, she remembered the verse she had pulled from her treasure box—God’s promise that He would always be with her.
Instead of becoming frustrated or giving up, Winnie slowed down, listened, and trusted God. She thanked Him for being present and helping her be patient with her horse.
And isn’t that something we all need to remember? ❤️ Sometimes we can get so focused on the problem in front of us that we forget Jesus is already there. We don’t have to face the hard things alone. We can stop, breathe, remember His presence, and thank Him for being with us.
And while we were talking about being present, Bella was certainly practicing it! She stayed right beside Meghan during the devotion, and at one point it looked like she might just climb right into her lap!
The bond these two share is beautiful to watch.
Then we transitioned into our Just Horsin’ Around Homeschool lesson and discovered another amazing example of God’s presence and creativity—our bones!
We learned about the major bones in a horse’s front and back legs and compared them to our own human skeletons. We talked about how God created each of us so wonderfully and intentionally:
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” — Psalm 139:13–14
We even painted the bones onto Bella’s legs and then watched her move at different paces to see those bones in action! What a fun way to see how the pieces God designed work together.
And, of course, on such a hot day, Bella’s lesson ended with something she seemed very happy about—a nice, refreshing bath!
From learning that God is always present with us to seeing the incredible way He created our bodies and our horses, the whole day was a beautiful reminder:
God is in the details.God is in the hard moments.God is in the quiet moments. And most importantly—God is PRESENT. ❤️
What a privilege it is to learn about Him right here in the barn. 🐴📖💕
