CIA’s Continuing Education + Community Outreach program offers dynamic art and design classes for high school students, young artists and adults.

Each semester we serve all age groups by helping each student learn new skills or improve on existing skills. Our courses take place on Cleveland’s east side at the campus of Cleveland Institute of Art.

Cameraless Photography? That's right!
In this 4 week course, you'll learn how to make cyanotype and silver gelatin photograms in a traditional wet lab darkroom, and how to utilize these same techniques to make photograms at home without specialized equipment!

You'll also learn about the history of photogenic drawing, and look at historical and contemporary examples and practices.

Class runs June 13 – July 11 (no class July 4)

Ever wanted to make your own clothes? πŸͺ‘βœ‚οΈ
In introduction to sewing students will complete a series of projects over the course of 8 weeks that will teach the basics of sewing. Class will focus on learning pattern making for garments, and how to sew different seams. This will all accumulate to a final project where students will make their own garment to take home from the course!
