We have another graduate !!
Antonio R. is Merrick House’s most recent success story of the Adult Education (GED) program. He has exceeded his own expectations by scoring in 3 out of 4 subjects at the college ready level and 2 of those 3 at college ready + credit (college) score level! (He also had some of the highest scores for our class.)
Antonio is a very conscientious student. His attendance is commendable, coming regularly and consistently. He studied with due diligence and was rewarded with his high scores on his high school equivalency diploma.

Meet Joe.

Joe enrolled in our GED program on December 7, 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was highly motivated to begin and finish the necessary learning needed to pass all 4 of the GED sections.

COVID-19 protocols changed our class requirements so we relied heavily on a computer program, Essential Education to supplement lessons. Joe kept with us through phone calls and texts.

He was able to schedule both of his GED tests despite cancellations are disruption caused by COVID-19 and persevered and passed all the parts in one month, finishing the GED tests on February 22!

He can now check the “yes” box, when asked “High School Diploma?” He plans to continue his education, getting involved in social work and su***de prevention.
