We are all about making sure our students are career and college ready when they graduate high school. Employability is a key factor in our mission!
The Youth Career Connect grant is in it's third year at Toledo Public Schools. The purpose of this grant is to work with specific Career Tech programs and determine how we can support our students through these programs. As of right now, the grant is partnered with TTA, Precision Machining at Start and Scott, Advanced Electronics at Bowsher, and Supply Chain Management at Woodward. We work closely

TTA students are having a BLAST at NASA this week! Thank you YCC for this amazing opportunity! We were able to ask questions to a panel of NASA engineers, tour the Graphics and Visualization lab (virtual reality), and complete an awesome project! What a GREAT time!

Talk about a great first impression! 🤗🤗🤗 Our Career Tech juniors and seniors had an awesome opportunity to go to a job fair (held specifically for them) at the TPS Board of Education. The employers were beyond impressed!!! Some students were even offered interviews for the following week 🖊📄. The employers couldn't stop talking about how PREPARED our students were. The mock interviews must have done the trick 😎They also said they were polite, well dressed, and overall great kids. Students were given medals 🥇🏅🎖 based on their skills and qualities. We sure are !!!

Can you say you went to NASA to show them the rover you built? Can you say you worked with some of NASA's most distinguished engineers? WE CAN!!!!! Congratulations to Bowsher HS, Scott HS, and Start HS students on a job well done. We are so proud of you!

Start HS students WOWED us with their interview skills last week! Mock interviews were a success and students were able to demonstrate what they've learned from their career tech classes and teachers!

Start HS freshmen had a blast today at the Natural Science and Technology Center, and Mrs. Fox Gallaher couldn't have been more excited about holding a starfish! It doesn't get much cooler than that! Check it out for yourself!

Start students are having a BLAST at the Natural Science Center today! We collected eggs from the chicken coop and maple water from the maple trees (to make maple syrup) and got to taste some maple syrup that students made! We watched a cat being dissected, Mrs. Fox got to hang out with a FOX, and Sylvia got over her fear of snakes! What an AWESOME day so far 😀🐍🐢🐊🐱🐭🐸🐔🐥🐁🐇

The Career Tech programs at Start HS had the opportunity today to learn about the different Engineering programs the University of Toledo has to offer! A big thanks to Kevin Brooks and Gina Gass for coming out and presenting this very beneficial information!
