The Welsh Academy at Saint Ignatius High School

Congratulations to The Welsh Academy Class of 2026 and their families! We are so proud of you all!

Last week, we celebrated our graduating eighth-grade students with a Mass and a graduation ceremony in the St. Mary of the Assumption Chapel. While our students are moving on to continue their journeys of lifelong learning, remember: once a WelshCat, always a WelshCat! We can’t wait to see all that you achieve in high school and beyond!

Last month, our 8th-grade WelshCats had an incredible few days in Washington, D.C.! 🇺🇸

Our students visited the Flight 93 Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Smithsonian museums, various historic memorials, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and more! Our students experienced so much of our nation’s history firsthand. We are proud of the leadership, respect, and engagement our students showed throughout the trip!

Last week, our Welsh Academy 7th-grade class got a glimpse of what the next step of their journey could look like at Saint Ignatius High School!

Paired with Saint Ignatius students, our young men spent the day attending classes and experiencing life as Wildcats for a Day. Thank you to the admissions team and all of the student hosts for welcoming our students and giving them the opportunity to experience a day at the high school.

The Welsh Academy is proud to be a school partner for the Family Kindness Festival on Sunday, April 26, 2026!

Enjoy give-back projects, strolling entertainment, games for all ages, ice cream, and more this Sunday from 1-4 PM at Landerhaven, 6111 Landerhaven Drive, Mayfield Heights. See you there!

Through our Affinity Programs at The Welsh Academy, students get the chance to try something new, discover hidden talents, and have fun doing it. These hands-on, short-term courses are all about exploring interests beyond the classroom and building confidence along the way.

In the Spice Field Kitchen affinity, students learned to make (and enjoy!) homemade pupusas!

From the kitchen to the workshop and everywhere in between, our Affinity Programs help students find what excites them and imagine what’s possible next.
