๐ฆ Did you know a simple touch can spread GERMS across campusโ๐ฆ
๐งซ Eighth grade students in Mrs. Tuckerโs HEALTH SCIENCE classes investigated the CHAIN OF INFECTION using GloโGerm + blacklights, practiced proper PPE donning/removal (glove removal tested with shaving cream!), learned handwashing โ ๐งผ technique, swabbed school surfaces ๐งซ to grow microbes ๐ฆ on agar, and examined common pathogens under the microscope ๐ฌ.
๐ฌ Students were posed with the QUESTION:
"What can you do as a student at LFMS to prevent the spread of germs โ"
๐ฆ They then applied their findings in a PBL to design real solutions to stop it! ๐ช
๐งซ Final projects included letters to administrators requesting automatic restroom fixtures and more sanitizer stations, peerโtoโpeer PSA scripts for the Den Daily News, and creative visual nudges to encourage handwashing!
๐ฌ Weโre so proud of their evidenceโbased solutions! ๐
