How are Google’s AI results really affecting search?
I’ve been asking myself about this a lot lately.
I keep reading that Google says searches increased by 20% in 2025, thanks to the AI results on top of a search. But at the same time, clicks on content are actually down.

So what does this mean for marketing and search optimization?
Honestly, I think it means we’re in a learning phase. We have to keep watching, testing, and adjusting. The old “just write keyword content” approach isn’t enough anymore.
➤Content needs to feel more human. More emotional. More real.
➤It has to solve problems in ways only you can.
I know that’s not easy.
It’s not super specific.
And it definitely won’t happen overnight.
This is trial and error, just like all social media and digital marketing has always been.

So start thinking about it now. Start adjusting your strategy little by little.
🐑Be patient with yourself. Keep learning. Keep tweaking.
That’s how we grow, even in an AI-driven world.

SEO should sound familiar…
But now AIO, AEO, and GEO are popping up everywhere.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗘𝗢?

There isn’t one winning acronym in search marketing that I can see for now.

So, we have to consider all of them in our marketing strategies. Which means looking at it 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘀.

◔◡◔ Here’s a little 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬:
AIO – Artificial Intelligence Optimization
AEO – Answer Engine Optimization
GEO – Generative Engine Optimization
SEO – Search Engine Optimization (the original and longest-standing)

➪At the core, all of these focus on the same thing:
When someone searches for information, what content gets shown to them, and why.

➪For marketers, that means one thing hasn’t changed:
We need to 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗳𝘂𝗹, 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 that shows up where people are searching, whether that’s traditional search engines or AI-powered platforms.

𝘚𝘰, 𝘪𝘵𝘴 not 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘴,
but 𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨.

➪Here are some pointers to help adapt:
1. People are getting direct answers from AI tools instead of clicking through long lists of results. Lead with the answer, then support it.

2. AI often surfaces specific sections of content, not entire blog posts, clarity and structure matter more than length. Use clear headings, short paragraphs, and bullet points so both people and AI can quickly understand the content.

3. Search is no longer just Google
People now search using:
a. AI tools
b. Social platforms
c. Voice assistants
Optimize for clarity, not cleverness

4. Being “ #1” matters less than being included in the answer people actually see. Trust matters more than ever.

Chasing every new acronym won’t help. If you want to design content to help you get found:
• Help the user
• Answering real questions
• Creating content with purpose

The goal isn’t to “optimize for the right acronym.”

🐑𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.

To my students and beginners:

You don’t need to know everything before you post.

Learn → document → teach what you’re learning.

That’s how confidence is built, one post at a time.

01/05/2026

Reminder as we head into a new year:

Progress beats perfection.
Learning beats waiting.
Consistency beats virality.

You’re allowed to grow at your own pace.

This year reinforced something I teach my students often:

You don’t need to master every platform.
You need to understand one platform well.

Depth beats distraction, every time.

If you’re starting fresh next year, choose one platform and commit to learning it well.

What This Year Taught Us About Social Media (And How to Use It to Win Next Year)

➡️Consistency didn’t just build reach, it built confidence.

➡️If your content answered questions, solved problems, or explained why something worked you are already ahead.

➡️This year rewarded action over perfection.

➡️Authenticity wasn’t a buzzword, it was a differentiator.

➡️Show up without feeling overwhelmed.
Random posting led to exhaustion.
Intentional posting led to sustainability.

💡 What makes customers choose one brand over another?
It all comes down to how well a company defines marketing and customer value.

In our latest case study in my Marketing Class, we analyzed how Gatorade builds a winning strategy by focusing on customer needs, emotional connection, and consistent brand positioning.
We landed on continually asking 3 Questions:

✔️ What problem am I solving?
✔️ How does my brand make customers feel?
✔️ What lasting value am I delivering?

💬 Comment below: What brand do YOU think defines customer value best?
