Volunteer organization Volunteers began tutoring students at the school and at the church under the direction of the chair of John Hay's English Department.
In 1990, The Church of the Covenant formed a partnership with its neighbor, John Hay High School, in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Since that time, The Saturday Tutoring Program has developed and grown. Over the years, hundreds of students have received free tutoring from our volunteers. ANNOUNCEMENT: The Saturday Tutoring Program is teaming up with Coach Sam's Scholars for a Summer Saturday Tutoring Program that will focus on literacy to prevent the "summer slide." Don't let your student lose a lot of what they have learned in school. Make sure that they get reinforcement. The Summer Saturday Tutoring Program will be held each Saturday in June. Registration will start April 5th.

Our first tutoring session included a lot of smiling and learning. The Art Enrichment activity using leaves and chalk was a big hit. Thank you to Ms. Mailey for sharing her love of art with our students. Next week, we will have art and recycling enrichment activities.
