PHIDE MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Meet duo Kate Kim and Gloria Meng! 🎞️📸💌🌆
Kate is a junior from Dallas, Texas majoring in Systems Biology. She is a part of Alpha Gamma Delta, Project Sunshine, and UPB. She conducts research on cystic fibrosis, works as a PCNA, and SIs for Math 125/126. She also volunteers at Hope Lodge. “I was hesitant to go through recruitment for PhiDE, but looking back, it has been one of the best things I have chosen to do for myself. Not only did I end up becoming brothers with my best friend, but I also met a whole new group of people who have been there for me and genuinely want to see me succeed. It has given me a community that I know I can rely on, both inside and outside of school. Joining a phamline has been really valuable to me, especially getting to learn more from Ava, Chris, and Rina. I have learned so much from the people around me, and I am really grateful for the friendships and support that PhiDE has brought into my life.”
Gloria is a junior from Austin, Texas majoring in Nutritional Biochemistry. She is a part of Pi Beta Phi, UPB, and Global Medical Brigades. She conducts research on melanoma and works as a PCNA. She also volunteers at Hope Lodge and CCEL. “Joining PhiDE for me has been like gaining a whole new community here at Case. Going through recruitment as a sophomore, I was nervous that I would feel out of place, but everyone has been so supportive and welcoming since day one, especially my big Emily, who has made PhiDE feel so special. In PhiDE, I’ve met some of the most talented, dedicated, and giving people who don’t hesitate to help, and I am always learning from the people around me. I am forever grateful I made the decision to rush with my best friend, and I’m so excited to continue to make more memories with everyone!”
