Pushes, Pulls & Collisions!

Our second grade scientists got hands-on investigating how pushes, pulls, and collisions can make objects move or change shape! Working in pairs, students made predictions and used toy cars and modeling clay to test different combinations. They recorded their observations, explored what happens when objects collide and pull apart, and used their evidence to communicate what they discovered! 🔬🧠✨

Bradley County Schools will be closed October 5 through October 9 for Fall Break.

We hope our students, families, and staff enjoy a relaxing week and make some wonderful memories together! 💙

This week in first grade, we’ve been using our TIDE organizers to help us plan our writing before we put our ideas on paper! ✏️📚 Students are using color coding to organize each part of their response, making it easier to see how their ideas fit together. After planning together and organizing our thoughts, we use our TIDE to guide us as we turn those ideas into complete written responses. We’re learning that strong writing starts with strong planning! 💛

Thank you, Officer Rebecca Flynn, for scheduling a visit with the American Legion Riders Post 81 of Cleveland. Our 5th graders, faculty, and staff learned a tremendous amount about the Stars and Stripes and were deeply moved by the respectful ceremony involving retiring our old, tattered flag and replacing it with a new one. What a special afternoon!

Today, our 5th graders were a part of a special flag ceremony, including taking down our old flag and raising a new one. Thank you, Timothy & Lisa Pinkham, David Curler, Steve Sudore, and John Stephens of the American Legion Riders, Post 81 in Cleveland for teaching us about the history of the Stars and Stripes and how to properly fold and care for our new flag. It was a special event for all involved.
