How do you like your coffee? Light roast with a splash of creamer (or a sweet cream cold brew from our hospital’s Einstein Bros)

Specialty Interest? Heme/onc, rheumatology, PICU, NICU, Gen peds…pretty much everything at this point. I’m keeping an open mind!

Research Interest? Health accessibility, med ed, heme/onc

Hobbies? Reading, hiking, and hanging out with my friends, my boyfriend, and my dog!

Why Rainbow? Even with virtual interviews, I could tell how genuine and caring everyone was. I loved the X+Y schedule and amazing educational opportunities the residency offers. This was the program I was most excited about after the interview, and I’m so happy I matched here!

Meet the Intern: Christina Shrefler

Birthday? 10/11

Hometown? Willoughby Hills, OH

Medical School? The Ohio State University

Favorite Candy? Salted caramel chocolates from Aldi or Costco

Favorite Food? Spinach, salmon and mashed potatoes together

How do you like your coffee? Homemade espresso with almond milk froth!

Specialty Interest? Primary care! I have enjoyed hospital medicine and EM too though.

Research Interest? Patient education, especially regarding mental health, puberty, screen use.

Hobbies? Running in Cleveland’s suburbs gorgeous and massive hilly, waterfall-, and castle-containing parks! Cooking, crafting, quilling, involvement with my church. British comedy panel shows.

Why Rainbow? Goldilocks- esque medium size; enough to have all specialties and have access to working with fellows but still small enough that residents can get to know the nurses, each other, and even EVS staff:) which makes coming to work feel homey even when tough things are going on.

Happy Doctor’s Day!

We had our resident appreciation week last week, with some fun events to celebrate our amazing residents and to show them how much we appreciate their work at Rainbow 🌈 to take care of patients and their families!

Monday: Donuts 🍩, art therapy with our wonderful art therapist Elise, and pizza 🍕 for the night team!

Tuesday: Sweets and treats 🧁 at daily conference. Music Therapy Drum Session in the afternoon. Trivia at Boss Dog in the evening!

Wednesday: Pancake breakfast 🥞 (made by pancake master, Chief Sonia!). Tea for the Soul event with our palliative chaplain, Dr. Webster, that included aromatherapy making and snacks! Night team enjoyed a movie night watching “Turning Red”!

Thursday: Non-Medical Jeopardy at conference + Moe’s for lunch!

Friday: Rounded off the week with a ‘Resident Appreciation Raffle’ where our wonderful faculty donated gifts! We had a “fancy” candy rounds with Parfaits, made by Chief Ashley!
