Our mission is to provide a new path for students across North Georgia to earn an accredited High School Diploma in a student-centered, self-paced, evening public high school. Our Beliefs:

-Students learn in different ways and learn best when provided with a choice of successful approaches to support their learning styles.
-Students learn best when they are actively engaged in an individualized, self-paced curriculum.
-Students learn more when they are responsible for their learning and behavior.
-Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
-Individual tutoring strengthens teacher-student relationships and facilitates student learning.
-Students are more successful when teachers perform the functions of motivator, facilitator, counselor, and tutor.
-Student learning is demonstrated by mastery of essential knowledge and skills.
-A low student-teacher ratio increases student learning.
-Learning is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect between staff and students.
-A safe and orderly environment promotes student learning.
-The commitment to continuous improvements is imperative for the school to enable students to become confident, self-direct, lifelong learners. Statistical Data:

-Students from 34 counties have been served.
-Students from age 14 to age 64 years have been served.
-Mountain Education has helped to decrease the seven-county collaborative dropout rate from 7.6% to 4.1%.
-Each year 25% to 33% of collaborative high schools’ graduates have made up failed classes at Mountain Education and have graduated on time with their peers.
-Mountain Education has increased the number of diplomas awarded from 3 in 1994, the first year of operation, to 500+ in the 2024 school year alone.

Lillian's Story:
At 16, I found out I was expecting my son. I had been on track to graduate a year early, but after giving birth and experiencing severe health complications, I had to leave high school. For almost a year, I wasn’t in school, and I truly thought I would never graduate. Then, I found Mountain Education and decided to attend the Hall Campus.

Their night classes gave me the opportunity to care for my son during the day while continuing my education at night. I was able to complete my junior and senior years in just 6 months and graduate high school.

Mountain Ed didn’t just help me earn my diploma; they helped me create a plan for my future. It taught me that setbacks are okay and that giving up on something you’re passionate about is never the answer.

Today, I’m attending nursing school at NGTC and will graduate in July 2027. I honestly don’t know where I would be without Mountain Education. They gave me the chance to graduate, go to college, and build the future I once wasn’t sure was possible. I am forever grateful for this opportunity.

From Kona Ice (Cherokee), Game Night (Banks), and Corn Hole (Murray) to a Hat Bar (Chattooga) and Free Haircuts (Gilmer), our students have been celebrating, connecting, and making memories all week long.

Because learning is even better when there’s a little fun along the way!

Student Appreciation Days are in full swing!

Our 18 campuses are going ALL OUT to celebrate the students who make our campuses so special! From September 17–October 5, we’re showing our appreciation with fun, food, memories, and plenty of smiles!
📸 At the Stephens Campus, students are capturing memories at the Smiles Photo Booth Camper!
🎪 At the Calhoun Campus, students are enjoying dinner “Under the Big Top!”
🍦 At the Haralson Campus, it’s all about Ice Cream & Bingo!
And that’s just a taste of what’s happening across our campuses! We love finding creative ways to celebrate, recognize, and appreciate our amazing students.

We are so proud of Preston Curry (pictured right), Dawson Campus Graduate, Class of 2025, who recently completed Basic Training in the United States Army!

Preston recently returned to the Dawson Campus, along with a fellow soldier, to share his experience at Mountain Education with our current students. He encouraged them to stay focused, keep working hard, and never give up on their goals!

Preston and his wife, Angel Curry, Dawson Campus Graduate, Class of 2025, are now stationed in Colorado. We are incredibly proud of both of you and wish you continued success in this next chapter!
