We had a great turnout today at the Ocoee Region Builders Association membership meeting, sponsored by Independent Insulation LLC!
State Representative Dan Howell stopped by to give our members an update on upcoming legislation for next year. Commissioner Milan Blake, Register of Deeds-Elect Missy Mathews, and Bradley County Court Clerk Gayla Miller were also in attendance.
We appreciate our elected officials taking the time to stay engaged with the building industry, affordable housing, and the ways legislation can impact homeownership in our community.
ORBA Education Chair John Proffitt and President Howard Millsaps also presented our fourth David Stauffer Memorial Scholarship to Jacob Blackwell. Congratulations, Jacob!
Thank you to everyone who attended. We had a huge crowd today at Southern Charm Venue, and we also want to give a special shoutout to Scott and Walker McGowan with Old Fort Restaurant for catering a great taco bar!
If you missed today’s meeting, you missed a great networking opportunity.
The Ocoee Region Builders Association works to support and promote the building industry through advocacy, education, networking, community involvement, and partnerships that help strengthen housing and homeownership in our region.

What an incredible National Association of Home Builders Legislative Conference in DC this week. We had the privilege of meeting with Congressmen John Rose, Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, Rep Tim Burchett, and Senator Marsha Blackburn just to name a few. On Wednesday over 1,100 Builders and Associates spoke to our Legislators about our concerns and what we would like to see happen to make housing more affordable and issues that we are facing.
