In eleven days, this community came together and sponsored two full classes of Motogo students for the fall. We set out to fill 24 seats and you filled all of them.

We are genuinely in awe of you.

A special and heartfelt thank you to Lubrizol, who matched every dollar given during this sprint—dollar for dollar, up to $5,000. That match was fully claimed by this community. Every penny of it. The speed and generosity with which you all gave made that possible, and the students heading into the Motogo shop this fall will feel it.

The Boost a Builder sprint officially closes tomorrow, July 31. If you'd like to make a final gift before it ends, every additional dollar goes directly toward supporting more students in the shop beyond these initial 24. We are still tallying the final total raised and will share the full number with you soon.

Our first Motogo Shop Class program in Chicago is a wrap! The students at Cristo Rey Jesuit HS, Chicago participated in an experimental 40 week immersion program…run in 30 hours!

These amazing students selected and named their Honda CB 350’s, got them up on lifts, tore them down to the bare frame, tore down and rebuilt the engines- replacing gaskets along the way, and put the bikes back together again.

Along the way, coaches and students alike learned persistence, problem solving, and gained incredible insight into the bravery it takes to fail and keep on going. By the end of a whirlwind week, 11 incredible students have risen to be hands-on engineering leaders, caring and compassionate teammates, and Motogo’s newest graduates.

We are so overwhelmed with pride in these beautiful humans.

And while the sprint has been running, the work in the shop has been going strong.

This week, students from the MAGNET program joined us for a three-hour team build and kickstart. Getting a group to the shop in the summer is no small feat—bussing is expensive and hard to schedule. So instead, they did what this community does: they figured it out. The whole group rode MAGNET's fleet of yellow bikes down East 55th Street to Motogo and back.

That's the magic happening right now in the St. Clair-Superior and Central neighborhoods. That's what showing up for students looks like out here.

Starting today, July 20, we have 11 days to fill 24 student seats at a Cleveland school. Every gift made through July 31 is matched dollar for dollar by Lubrizol—up to $5,000 total.

Last semester, 42% of our students walked in having never held a wrench. By the end of the semester, every one of them had rebuilt a motorcycle engine from scratch. That's what a seat in this program does.

Our favorite day of the year! Young Queens from Queen IAM filled up the shop for a day of project based learning! These STEM explorers were split into the "Bigs" and "Littles" this year for a new age-targeted program that added in "pin the tail on the motorcycle," and a half-day Honda CB 350 build for the older Queens.

Thank you to all the students, and to our incredible volunteers who knocked it out of the park, again! Special thanks to our intern, Juls, who has taken over teaching the Kickstart lesson! Counting down the minutes until next year.
