🎶JAZZ BAND🎶

Jazz Band is BACK for the Bruin Band!

Our FIRST practice is this Monday, August 24th! If your student is involved in other after school activities, it is possible for them to still be in jazz band. We will work with their schedules.

Jazz band involves 7th and 8th grade band members. Being in jazz band is optional! Also, students will receive a schedule for the fall semester. Some dates may be subject to change, however, we will do our best to inform you of those changes in a timely fashion. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. 🎊🎶

🔴 CALLING ALL 6TH GRADERS:

🪊 Our instrument test drive and rental nights are quickly approaching! This is an opportunity to see which instrument is the best fit for you this year. Parents and guardians can choose which night to drop in and attend. You do not need to stay the entire time.

🎷 7th graders are permitted to come and test drive if they are interested in band and did not participate last year, or if they are new to Lake Forest and have prior musical experience playing an instrument.

🎺 PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: If your student attended the test drives in May, please choose one of the dates listed below to complete rental paper work.

🎊🎶WHEN BANDS COLLIDE 🎶🎊
⚫️🟡Two bands, one purpose!! 🔵🟡

On Tuesday morning, the LFMS and OMS Pep Bands joined forces to perform for the Bradley County Schools in-service. This year's theme was "Legacy: For the Love of the Game!"

Our students sounded fantastic and did an outstanding job collaborating. As we begin a new school year, we're excited for a season filled with music, growth, and unforgettable performances.

Here's to more opportunities to partner, connect, and make music together! 🎶🎷🎵🥁🎺🥳

LFMS SUMMER BAND CAMP ‘26 RECAP 🥁

Last week over 50 students attended summer band camp! We had a fantastic week making friends, learning and re-learning different musical concepts, and growing into GREAT musicians! 🎶🎵

During camp our rising 6th graders spent time reviewing note identification, learning rhythm reading with kinesthetic elements, and learning the first five notes on their instruments. On the last day they performed Hot Cross Buns! 🎺

Our 7th and 8th graders rocked it out by strengthening their musical literacy skills with reviewing note identification, sight reading, scales, and dynamic contrast in chorales. In addition, they reviewed and learned pep band tunes for the fall! 🥁

Students had opportunities to connect with their peers through icebreakers and ongoing conversation during breaks! Our students are wired for greatness and we can’t wait to see them succeed in the upcoming school year! 🎶

We are reminiscing on the good times from band camp last year, but we have a GREAT camp in store for this summer! If you haven’t signed up, you still have time! All payments can be dropped off at the front office at LFMS during summer hours, or your student can bring the fee with them to camp! We can’t wait and we’ll see you in a couple of weeks! 🥳
