It's Pig Pickin' y'all!

Delta State's Commercial Aviation Department conducted a flyover of the DSU football game and Pig Pickin' in honor of Dr. Kent Wyatt. The lead plane in the group bears the name Spirit of Wyatt.

In 2024, Delta State received a donated aircraft. Upon reviewing the aircraft's maintenance records, the DSU Aviation maintenance team identified multiple conditions that rendered the aircraft unairworthy. As a result, the aircraft was never placed into service at Delta State. It has never been flown by Delta State students, faculty, or staff. The safety of our students is our highest priority. Every aircraft used at Delta State undergoes rigorous inspection and must meet all applicable airworthiness standards before being approved for service. Delta State would never place our students, faculty, staff, or the public at risk by operating an aircraft that does not meet those standards.
