For more than twenty years, Trousdale School has been helping adults with intellectual disabilities continue learning, growing, working, and building meaningful lives. Trousdale School developed the Annual Fund to help make this mission possible. Gifts to our Annual Fund make student scholarships possible, as well as strengthen our programs, sustain daily operations, and invest in the future of Trousdale School.

Do you share a passion for our mission? We invite you to partner with Trousdale School by making a year-end contribution to the Annual Fund. You can learn more about the Trousdale School Annual Fund and make a secure online gift by visiting the link below.

Trousdale School is proud to announce that we have again received full accreditation through the National Commission for the Accreditation of Special Education Services (NCASES)! This accreditation is in effect for four years. Trousdale School was the first organization in Tennessee to pursue accreditation through NCASES, a subsidiary of the National Association of Private Special Education Centers (NAPSEC), and has been accredited through this organization since 2015.

This distinguished accomplishment reflects Trousdale School's commitment to excellence in delivering the highest quality of educational services. The Commission has commended our team for dedication, professionalism, and continued pursuit of best practices in the field. Trousdale School will be formally recognized for this achievement during the upcoming NAPSEC Annual Leadership Conference.

We were glad have the opportunity to partner with UTC Occupational Therapy again this year for the Digital Stories Project! Their first-year students toured our school and interviewed several of our students with the goal of learning to communicate with people who have learning disabilities. These interviews were filmed and the UTC students will create "digital stories" of each student, which we will have the opportunity to view in November.

Adam Stein is "Student of the Month" for October! We are pleased to introduce this new series, sponsored by Mountain View Auto Group, in which we will highlight an exemplary Trousdale School student each month.

Adam has been a student at Trousdale School since 2011. A Chattanooga native, Adam graduated from Brainerd High School. You might encounter Adam's winsome smile and hear his friendly greeting as you enter Home Depot or the Cleveland Family YMCA, where he works on weekday mornings. Adam is a hard worker, a valued member of the Trousdale School community, and a talented singer who loves to croon "Bridge Over Troubled Water."

Thank you to Mountain View Auto Group for supporting the students of Trousdale School, and congratulations to Adam!

ONE MORE WEEK (to submit artworks).....would you like a SNEAK PEEK?

This student-designed and constructed art installation is just one example of KINETIC ART that will be on display at the 10th Annual Community Art Show at Trousdale School on November 12, 2026. Sponsored by Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union and Tennessee Arts Commission, this will be the arts event of the season -- with hundreds of artworks from local artists, awards, food trucks, silent auction baskets, Artist Village, and more!

Artists receive 100% profit of the artworks they sell. Get those artworks ready and visit https://www.trousdaleschool.org/2026-art-show to register!

Our Correspondence Class took a field trip for a Greeting Card Scavenger Hunt! Students were given a list of 4-5 greeting cards and the age and gender of the person to receive each card. Their assignment was to select a card that was appropriate for each occasion and recipient. We think they made some excellent choices!
