Our students dearly love Dolly Parton and want to pay tribute to her incredible life. Dolly’s music has been joy and inspiration to so many of us. Last year in Reading Class, we read a book about her life. We learned about her music career and philanthropy during "Hello Dolly Camp," part of our Explore Tennessee Summer 2025. Many of our students wrote her letters in Correspondence Class, and she graciously responded! We even had a "Dolly Day" where students dressed up in her honor.

Thank you for inspiring us all, Dolly! We will always love you.

We wrapped up the last weeks of our summer hiking club with visits to the Cleveland Greenway and Red Clay State Park. This puts our GRAND TOTAL for the summer at 24.1 MILES HIKED! We are so incredibly proud of each member of the Tennessee Trails Hiking Club. This summer we have taken more steps than any other and we've relished the abundant beauty of our region. Here's to the great outdoors!

Our next stop in Consumer Services Unit is the Trousdale Spa! We began by learning what services are offered at a spa, explaining the pricing, and reading and filling out the paper from which customers select their choices. We will spend a few weeks role-playing this consumer scenario to master these skills.

Our summer intern Emma Johnson is heading back to Appalachian State University as she pursues a degree in Special Education, and we will miss her terribly! We are so thankful to Emma for the time, care, positivity, support, and hard work she has shared with our students and staff. Good luck, Emma! Have a great year, and GO APP!
