🍁 HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL, Y'ALL! 🍁

Did you know today is officially the first day of fall? 👀🍂

Today is the Fall Equinox, which means we're entering the season when the days start getting shorter and the nights longer. 🌎☀️🌙

But here's the cool part… why do the leaves actually change colors? 🤔

🌿 During the growing season, leaves are packed with chlorophyll, which gives them their green color. As daylight decreases and temperatures begin to change, trees stop producing as much chlorophyll. The green fades, revealing other pigments that were already in the leaves—hello, yellow, orange, and red! 🍁🍊❤️

So the next time you see a tree turning bright red or orange, remember: there's some science behind that fall aesthetic. 🔬🍂

On Thursday, September 17, HSA Cleveland High School participated in the annual Cuyahoga County Father Walk! 👏

Students and their dads walked down the hill together before joining us for a morning assembly. The morning was filled with donuts, smiles, and quality time together. 🍩❤️

A HUGE thank you to Ms. Joyce Freeman for making this special event possible and to all of the dads and students who came out to participate!

A well-running school needs far more than just students, classrooms and teachers. It requires a series of equally important staff members who work behind the scenes to enable the learning process to be as efficient as possible.

This week we highlight those whose work often times remains unseen, though their absence would create a substantial obstacle to our day-to-day operations. 🏆🐉 BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS! 🐉🏆

On September 15, we celebrated some of our Dragons who excelled on their state tests last spring! 📚🔥

These students came together for our Breakfast of Champions to celebrate their achievements, enjoy breakfast, and have a little fun with games and friends. 🎉🍳

And the celebration didn't stop there! These students also earned Friday dress-down privileges as an extra reward for all their hard work. 👏

We are incredibly proud of all our students and the effort they put into reaching their goals. You earned this one, Dragons! ❤️🐉

🌱🐉 HSA IS GROWING SOMETHING NEW! 🐉🌱

JROTC isn't the only group getting hands-on in the garden! Our brand-new Agricultural, Food & Natural Resources CTE class is already getting to work preparing our campus for our new greenhouse! 🌿🏡

This year, HSA Cleveland added two new CTE pathways: Animal Science and Finance! 🎓

As part of the Animal Science Pathway, students in our Agricultural class will spend the year exploring agriculture, growing vegetables, and learning about natural resources through hands-on experiences. 🌱🥕🌻

Our students were excited to jump into this new class—and they're ready to see what they can grow! 👏
