The interns virtually explored University Circle for their last immersion day activity. They heard from Chris Ronayne, President of University Circle Inc, about community development, focusing on healthcare, education, and arts/culture in the neighborhood. Richard Barga spoke about the history of Midtown Cleveland and upcoming projects. We ended the session hearing from Matthew Fieldman, Vice President of External Affairs for MAGNET, he spoke about the manufacturing industry in Northeast Ohio. The company pivoted during the pandemic to quickly create PPE equipment for the city as well as to development of an innovative coronavirus testing station. We virtually toured the manufacturing facility and saw how they are using robots to create products in addition to 3D printers for entrepreneurs.
