TFA Graduate Fellows Program

TFA and Delta State University have joined forces in order to reimagine what is possible for Mississippi by cultivating next generation changemakers.

Teach For America and Delta State University
have joined forces in order to reimagine what is possible for Mississippi by cultivating next generation changemakers and social entrepreneurs. This program is open to Teach For America (TFA) Alumni who have completed their two-year teaching commitment, or will complete their teaching commitment by May 2018. Each year, the TFA Graduate Fellows program will hand-select cohort of 10 Scholars that will regularly convene to share experiences in a collaborative, think tank like environment, allowing Fellows to develop goals and accountability partnerships. Through the Social Entrepreneurship Project, each Fellow will address the obstacles that are holding Mississippi back from progressing forward and confront the issue in a ground-breaking approach, fostering impactful social innovation that can lead to creating the future they envision for Mississippi, their community, and themselves. Support Stipend provided to participants who engage in their projects and pursue their graduate degrees while/if employed outside of the program for fewer than 30 hours per week. Along with the Social Entrepreneurship project, TFA Fellows receive a Full-tuition Graduate School Scholarship to Delta State University for up to two years, 4 semesters (Fall/Spring), of full-time enrollment. Fellows are invited to pursue a Master's, Specialist or Doctorate degree during the length of the program. Visit www.tfafellows.com for more details. The principal goal of the Foundation is to contribute to the overall economic advancement of the State of Mississippi by making funds available to four-year colleges and universities and graduate professional schools located in the State.

- Hear from passionate educators: Our TFA Graduate Fellows are dedicated to making a difference in Mississippi education.

- Meet the future of education: Each Fellow will present a 90-second “pitch” about their innovative Social Entrepreneurship Project (SE Project) designed to tackle challenges in their communities.

- Be their voice: After the presentations, enjoy delicious brunch and network with the Fellows. Cast your vote for the top 5 SE Projects you’d like to see funded!

The winning projects receive financial support to make their vision a reality!
