Old Brook High School serves students who may have fallen behind in credits, have difficulty passing state tests, are at risk of dropping out, or just need a new start. Old Brook High is a high school serving students who would be traditionally enrolled in grades 9-12, aged 16-21. These students may have fallen behind in earning credits, have difficulty passing state required tests, are at risk of dropping out of school, or just need a new environment in which they can succeed. Old Brook High students do not enroll in a specific grade level but rather in the "Old Brook High School." We target the population of students whose educational needs have not been met at any meaningful level. Old Brook High is an alternative for the non-traditional student. The Old Brook High model catches the students that are falling through the cracks and empowers the community with more contributing adult citizens.

We are so proud to celebrate an incredible accomplishment at Old Brook High School! 🎉📚 Last school year, our school received “Exceeds Standards” in all aspects of our report card! This achievement is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our students, teachers, staff, and entire school community.

To celebrate this amazing success, we treated our students and staff to a delicious meal from Barrios Food Truck! 🌮🎉 It was a wonderful way to come together, enjoy some great food, and recognize everyone’s efforts and achievements.

Our student practiced denture care and mouth care while learning the importance of proper hygiene and safety when caring for residents. They also had to identify the different safety hazards they noticed when walking into the resident’s room. Our students did a great job putting their knowledge and skills into practice! One of our students did an amazing job creating an informative poster explaining the difference between kinetic energy and potential energy! Through creativity and careful research, the student demonstrated an understanding of how kinetic energy is the energy of motion, while potential energy is stored energy based on an object’s position or condition. We are proud to see our students using their creativity to explore science concepts and share their knowledge in a fun and engaging way! 🔬⚡📚

Today, our Old Brook High School students had a fun and creative time in our Cartooning Class! ✏️🎨 Students learned how to draw cartoon figures while exploring different shapes, expressions, and artistic techniques. They had the opportunity to use their imagination, practice their drawing skills, and create their own unique cartoon characters. Our student showed her creativity and culinary skills by making a delicious handcrafted mango lemonade from scratch! She prepared her own homemade mango syrup, carefully combining fresh mango flavors to create a sweet and flavorful base for the drink. She then mixed the mango syrup with refreshing lemonade, creating the perfect balance of sweetness and citrus. 🍋

Old Brook High School’s Back-to-School Bash was a great success! Our students had a wonderful time enjoying fun activities, spending time with their friends, and getting excited about the new school year. It was a great opportunity for everyone to come together, have fun, and start the 2026–2027 school year with positive energy and big smiles. We are so happy to see our Old Brook family back together and ready for another great year!
