πŸΎπŸŽ“ A Metro Catholic School Clap Out to Remember! πŸŽ“πŸΎ

On Friday afternoon, every Metro Catholic School student came outside to celebrate our 8th graders as they spent their final afternoon as current Metro students.

The sidewalks were filled with cheers, claps, smiles, and Cougar pride as our younger students honored the Class of 2026 and sent them off with love and encouragement. It was a beautiful reminder that Metro Catholic School is more than a school β€” we are a family.

Our 8th graders have led, learned, grown, and set an example for the students coming behind them. Now, as they prepare for graduation and the exciting journey into high school, we are so proud to celebrate all they have become.

Once a Cougar, always a Cougar. πŸ’™πŸ’›

Congratulations, 8th graders! We are cheering for you today and always! πŸΎπŸŽ“

🐾✨ What a Friday at Metro Catholic School! ✨🐾

Our day was full of meaningful memories, joyful celebrations, and school spirit.

We began with a beautiful prayer service and candlelight ceremony, where our 8th graders literally passed the β€œtorch” β€” or candle β€” to our 7th graders, who will soon step forward as Metro’s newest student leaders and role models. πŸ•―οΈ

Our 8th graders then gathered for a special farewell luncheon in St. Stephen’s Club Room, enjoying a delicious menu from our cafeteria and Ms. Koziol. They also received their graduation shirts and travel journals to mark all the new experiences, adventures, and opportunities ahead.

Principal Gehring helped celebrate this important transition by reading Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss β€” a perfect reminder that our 8th graders are ready for the exciting road from middle school to high school and beyond. πŸŽ“

And, of course, Metro students and teachers brought plenty of color and energy to the day with our spirited Neon Day! πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ§‘πŸ’™

We have five more days of school this year, and they are packed with field trips, celebrations, and our 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday.

Way to shine, Cougars! 🐾

Our newest Cougar Cubs helped lead our school community in a beautiful May Crowning celebration at St. Stephen Church.

Our Pre-K students offered flowers at the altar with such reverence, joy, and love, reminding us that even our youngest students can be leaders and examples of faith.

We are so proud of our Cougar Cubs for helping make this special tradition so meaningful. πŸŒΈπŸ™πŸ’™

Ms. Musa’s Kindergarten students stepped back in time while learning about colonial towns and the important jobs of townspeople, including bread makers and millers.

To bring their lesson to life, students kneaded bread dough and made butter from scratch! A special thank-you to Ms. Anna for baking the bread the students prepared.

Hands-on learning makes history delicious! 🍞🧈

Refer a Family to Metro! πŸΎπŸ’™πŸ’›

Metro Catholic families can earn $150 per referred family when a new family enrolls at Metro and lists your name on their application.

Here’s how it works:

πŸ’™ $50 when the new student attends the first day of school
πŸ’› $100 more if the student is still enrolled in October
πŸŽ‰ That’s $150 for each new Metro family you refer!

New students who enroll may also have a chance to win a gift card in August!

Help us grow the Metro Catholic family by spreading the word to friends, neighbors, relatives, coworkers, and anyone looking for a joyful, faith-filled school community.

🎨 Big Cougars Helping Little Cougars!
Our 7th graders showed true Metro Catholic leadership by helping our kindergarteners tie-dye shirts for Field Day! We love seeing our older students guide, encourage, and care for our younger Cougar Cubs.

We also had a special visit from a Cleveland Public Library librarian this week, who helped encourage a love of reading and learning for our students. Plus, Metro Chess Club meets every Wednesday β€” our Cougars are making smart moves on and off the board! β™ŸοΈ
