Cleveland State University's Monte Ahuja College of Business Accounting Programs are among a select group of only 182 accounting programs that hold Accounting Accreditation from AACSB International—the hallmark of management education. Our diverse program offerings include undergraduate, graduate, and certificate opportunities that are well-suited for a wide range of domestic and international students. In addition to classes, major and minor students will also benefit from a plethora of local, national, and international connections through numerous job fair events and local internship placement, which often lead to full time work offers upon graduation. Our student organization, Beta Alpha Psi, is a National Honor Society over 100 years old focusing on Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems fields. BAP works to provide employment, leadership, and volunteer opportunities for its student members. Students in BAP aid the department in organizing valuable events on campus, such as Meet the Accountants Night, where students can speak directly to over 50 local companies seeking employees, and the Annual Awards Banquet, where students can apply and receive scholarships. Cleveland State University is located within walking distance of Cleveland downtown business & entertainment centers and has strong ties with the business and public sectors in Northeast Ohio. Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio region feature vibrant neighborhoods, reasonable housing prices, and an internationally renowned orchestra, the largest performing arts district outside of New York, major-league sports teams and world-class health care organizations.

A huge thank you to the 35 firms and companies who joined us for Meet the Accountants Night (MTAN) and helped make it such a meaningful evening for our students.

The Accounting Department at the Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University was proud to host this event for our accounting students, creating an opportunity for them to connect directly with accounting professionals, build relationships, and learn more about the career opportunities available in the profession.

We were excited to welcome 100+ students who attended the event to network with firms and engage in conversations about careers in accounting. Bringing students and professionals together is an important part of helping our students build connections and prepare for their future careers.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Beta Alpha Psi: Delta Psi Chapter Cleveland State University for spearheading the planning and organization of MTAN. Their leadership, dedication, and support played an important role in bringing the event together and creating a successful experience for our students and participating firms.

Thank you to all the firms, students, faculty, staff, and Beta Alpha Psi members who contributed to making MTAN a success. We are grateful for the continued support of our accounting community and look forward to creating more opportunities for our students to connect with professionals in the field.

Accounting students: Looking for opportunities to build your professional skills, connect with employers, and prepare for your career?

We’re sharing an opportunity from the Ohio Society of CPAs: the Accounting Careers Leadership Academy (ACLA).

ACLA is a completely free program designed to help today’s accounting majors develop the leadership skills they need for a successful future in the accounting profession. Students can learn about career opportunities, connect with accounting organizations and recruiters, explore internships and jobs, and learn about opportunities available after graduation.

All events are free for students. Gas money is also available for students traveling to Columbus for the November 6 luncheon and career fair. Many professors also offer extra credit for attending one or all three sessions.

Free student membership: College students can join the Ohio Society of CPAs for free and learn about professional programs and Summer Leadership opportunities from leading accounting firms.

Join the Northeast Ohio IIA, ISACA, and FEI for their 2026–2027 Joint Kick-Off Meeting on September 3rd.

The event will cover regulatory updates, tax developments, and emerging technology in internal audit, followed by lunch, networking, and an optional Cleveland Guardians game.

CSU student attendance for the main event is waived. Guardians game tickets are optional and available for an additional cost.
