💙💛🎶 It’s All-East Time Again 🎶💛💙

This morning, students traveled to UTC Music for a prep clinic for auditions for All East through the East Tennessee Vocal Association.

These students and many more from Walker Valley High School Choral Department will travel to Heritage High School in September to audition on musical elements of tone, accuracy, diction, expression, and sight reading. If accepted, students will travel to ETSU to perform in the ETVA All East Honor Choir in November.

Students have been hard at work preparing pieces of music in German, Latin, and English as well as rigorous preparation in sight reading.

The Walker Valley High School Choral Department is all about celebrating legacy on a big way!

Did you sing in the choir during your time at WVHS?

Did you perform in a musical in the award-winning WVHS Fine Arts Department?

We have had so much fun in Alumni Choir building new traditions and do not want you to miss out this year!

Come back to The Valley and sing in the 4th Annual Homecoming Alumni Choir for the “National Anthem” directed by Mr. Rowland, current WVHS Choral Director, and Mrs. Oran, former WVHS Choral Director.

This is open to any and all singers who participated in the WVHS choirs while in high school.

There will be a brief rehearsal at 5:30 p.m. in the WVHS Choir Room. Light refreshments and social time will happen at the beginning or rehearsal. We will be on the field and ready to sing at 6:45 p.m. There will also be “Welcome Home” gifts and merchandise for all participants!

Day 1 of Camp Triple Threat at Walker Valley High School is officially in the books, and the energy is absolutely electric! 🎶🎭

Our campers hit the ground running today, diving straight into a packed schedule of fun and growth:
🎵 Music Mastery: Students spent time with Mr. Rowland getting a head start on the music for this Friday evening’s big concert.
🌟 New Skills: Mrs. Hiddleson introduced everyone to exciting new musical aspects and activities that had the whole room engaged.
🎬 Curtain Call: The audition process is underway! Mrs. Limburg is guiding the campers through the process of learning and auditioning for their upcoming skits.

And of course, we had to keep our stars fueled! A huge shoutout to Mr. Limburg for preparing today’s delicious “Aloha Fruit Cups”—they were a huge hit!

It’s been a fantastic first day, and the campers are clearly having a blast. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week holds as they prepare for Friday night!

Make plans to attend Friday evening’s showcase concert at 7:00 p.m. in the WVHS Auditorium (Danny Coggin Performance Center).

Taught by professionals in each field with the faculty that helped bring the smash hit “The Prince of Egypt” to the stage this spring, this is bound to be a life changing experience for your students to be involved in Walker Valley fine arts.

Students will be divided into age groups to assure that they receive age-appropriate, challenging, and fun instruction!

This year’s theme is “Beats at the Beach” and will feature music from radio and film featuring Caribbean and beach themes! (Moana and Lilo and Stitch just to name a few!)

Walker Valley Musical Theatre is ALWAYS learning and celebrating!!

💙🧡💙

The cast of Walker Valley High School’s production of “The Prince of Egypt” is spending their Saturday in Chattanooga with the Tivoli Foundation as part of this weekend’s Jewel Awards!

This cast has been nominated for an astonishing 11 awards!

This evening, the cast will walk the red carpet at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium and perform “Deliver Us/The Plagues” on stage as nominees of the “Best Musical” category!

A huge shoutout to Carsan Humble and Joseph Warren on their nominations for “Best Actor.” As a part of this, these gentlemen will participate in an additional performance in an ensemble of all Best Actor/Actress nominees. The winner of this category will receive a 10-day, all expense paid trip to NYC to study musical theatre and perform at The Jimmy Awards this summer!

This morning student are in workshops with nationally recognized broadway performers, directors, and choreographers to further develop their craft!

It’s choir audition time in The Valley!

Students now have the opportunity to submit a virtual audition to be a part of the auditioned choral ensembles of Walker Valley High School!

Students have the option of auditioning for:
- Valley Voices (9th - 12th Women’s Choir)
- Chamber Choir (10th - 12th Advanced Mixed Ensemble)
- Mustang Vocal Collective (9th - 12th contemporary, popular music, a capella choir)

As always, any student wishing to be in Concert Choir does not need to submit an audition and should speak with their school counselor about signing up for the class!
