Dear Miles Park Families,

We have successfully completed three weeks of school, and I want to thank you for your partnership and support. It was wonderful to see so many families at our Open House just two days ago. Your presence and involvement make a tremendous difference in our students' success.

Our scholars have worked hard on their beginning-of-year i-Ready Reading and Mathematics assessments. These assessments provide valuable information that helps teachers identify each student's strengths and areas for growth so we can ensure every child receives the support they need to succeed.
As we move forward, I want to emphasize the importance of daily attendance and arriving at school on time. Every hour of instruction matters, and students who attend school consistently are more likely to achieve academic success. We encourage all families to make attendance a priority because every hour counts!

Please take a moment to ensure you have completed the following important family tasks:

Please note that there will be no school for Kindergarten students on Friday, September 18, 2026. Our Kindergarten teachers will be participating in professional development to strengthen instructional practices and support student learning.

Dear Miles Park Families,

Thank you for a wonderful start to the school year! Our scholars are settling into routines, building relationships, and engaging in learning each day. We appreciate your partnership in helping us create a safe, focused, and successful learning environment for every student.

Important Reminders
Clear Book Bags Required All students are required to use a clear book bag. This safety measure helps us maintain a secure school environment.
No Wireless Headphones Students should not bring wireless headphones, earbuds, or similar devices to school unless specifically authorized for instructional purposes.
Cell Phone-Free Campus Miles Park continues to be a cell phone-free campus during the school day. Students are expected to keep cell phones powered off and stored away while at school.

School Dress Code Expectations
Families, please review both the Miles Park and CMSD guidelines regarding school-appropriate clothing.
Students should not wear:
Halter tops
Short shorts
Biker shorts
See-through clothing
Tops with profanity or negative gestures
Clothing that exposes undergarments or midriffs
Open-toe shoes
Students who arrive at school dressed inappropriately will be required to change clothing, and parents/guardians will be contacted. We appreciate your support in ensuring scholars arrive ready to learn and dressed appropriately for school.

Homework Expectations
Teachers have begun assigning homework across grade levels.
Homework is an important extension of classroom learning and is not optional. Students are expected to:
Complete assigned homework/classwork
Return assignments on the designated due date
Ask for help when needed
Your support in establishing a consistent homework routine at home helps reinforce student success.
Social-Emotional Support Available
We recognize that some students may be experiencing difficulty self-regulating their emotions as they adjust to the school year.
Miles Park partners with Heart to Heart Counseling Services to provide support for students who may benefit from additional social-emotional assistance. If you believe your child could benefit from these services, please reach out to the school for more information.

Miles Park Families,
Happy Weekend!
We have successfully completed our first week of school, and I want to thank our students, families, and staff for helping make it a positive and productive start to the school year. We are excited to begin Week 2 and continue building strong routines that support student success.
It is imperative that students attend school on time every day. School doors open at 8:10 a.m. for breakfast, and instruction begins shortly thereafter. Dismissal begins at 2:55 p.m. Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to maximizing learning opportunities for every scholar.
Please encourage your child to:
Get a good night's rest each evening.
Arrive at school on time and ready to learn.
Come prepared with a positive attitude and a willingness to grow.
Follow all district and school expectations for behavior and learning.
As a reminder, school attendance directly impacts student growth and development. When a student misses one day of school, it is often equivalent to missing two days of learning momentum, or approximately 12 hours of academic and social-emotional development. Every day matters!
To keep families informed, we will provide weekly school updates and academic focus information from classrooms. ClassDojo is our primary communication tool, so please be sure to check it regularly for important announcements, reminders, and classroom updates.
We also ask that families ensure scholars are wearing school-appropriate clothing each day. Please refer to the Miles Park website and information shared through ClassDojo for guidance regarding dress expectations.
We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to partnering with you to ensure every scholar has a successful school year.

📚 Welcome Back, Miles Park Families! 🐝

This is a reminder that the first day of school for students in Grades 1st-8th is Monday, August 24th. Kindergarten students will begin on Friday, August 28th.

Important Reminders:

Doors open at 8:10 a.m. for breakfast.
School dismissal begins at 2:55 p.m.
Please be mindful of the construction on East 93rd Street. Students will be walking, and vehicles may stop more frequently during arrival and dismissal. We appreciate your patience as we work together to keep everyone safe.
Miles Park is a clear bookbag school.
Students should not bring cell phones to school. If a scholar arrives with a cell phone, it will be secured in a locked cell phone storage case prior to entering the building and returned at dismissal.

Please join us for our Back-to-School Meet & Greet on Thursday, August 20, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teachers, connect with staff, and get ready for a successful school year.

Hornet Families,

This is the last week of school for all scholars at Miles Park School. We will be mailing home report cards May 29, 2026. We strongly encourage K-3 scholars to enroll in CMSD Summer Learning Experience. Mr. Hill (Say Yes Coordinator) can help register your scholar. Also, if you can't wait until your scholar's report card is mailed home, you are able to access their grades using the CMSD Electronic Grade Book immediately. Dean Frisco can help you access this information. Last, it was a great pleasure being partners in education this year. Please make sure that your contact information is current. We send out school updates starting at the end of July. The first day of school is August 24, 2026 for 1st-8th grade scholars. KDG 1st day is August 28th and Pre-K 1st day is Sept. 8th.

Promotion Information: May 26, 2026

Pre-K/K @ 9:30 am Location: Cafe' (Enter through the front door)

8th Grade @ 12pm Location: GYM (Enter through the Harvard entrance)

**Doors will close 15 minutes after the promotion begins.

**All siblings must be signed out in the main office by their guardian before entering the promotion location. If they are not going home with you. They must have a pass from the main office in order to return back to class.

**Only scholars who are promoted to the next grade will participate in the promotion.

Please remember that scholars in 1st-7th grade will still be in school while the promotion is taking place. We can't have families visiting classrooms nor be in unassigned areas throughout the building. We must make sure that all scholars are counted for and safe while we have unfamiliar faces in the building. Please adhere to the CMSD and MP visitor policy/procedures. For additional assistance, call MP @ 216-838-4450 or DOJO message your scholar's teacher.

Miles Park Families,
We are excited to share that we have just one week remaining in the school year! As we wrap up, we also have several end-of-year activities planned. Please note that scholars may participate in these events if they have earned passing grades and have demonstrated appropriate school behavior.
This is also a reminder that families can view their scholar’s grades at any time through the CMSD Electronic Gradebook.
Important Grade Posting Dates:
Pre-K/KDG-8th Grade: Final grades will be posted on Wed., May 20th
1st–7th Grade: Final grades will be posted on Fri., May 22nd @ 5:00 PM
Device Return Reminder: All CMSD-issued devices must be returned by Fri., May 22nd. Failure to return devices may result in a $50 fee, in accordance with the CMSD Technology Device Policy.
