Be respectful to adults and peers,
Keep hands and feet to themselves, and
Not interfere with the learning of others.

Hornet Families,
We have five weeks remaining in the current marking period, and this week marks the final week of OST testing for students in grades 3–8. As we move toward the end of the school year, we want to remind families of the promotion requirements for all scholars. To be promoted to the next grade level, each scholar must:
Earn passing grades in at least 3 of the 4 marking periods
Maintain satisfactory school attendance
Participate in all required district and state assessments
While we understand that scholars are excited as summer approaches, we have seen an increase in behaviors that interfere with learning, including students coming to school unprepared, demonstrating disrespect toward adults and peers, and engaging in verbal or physical aggression. Unfortunately, this has resulted in an increase in Student Code of Conduct violations and disciplinary consequences. We ask families to partner with us in reinforcing expectations for respect, responsibility, and readiness to learn each day.
In addition, all families have received their scholar’s 2026–2027 school year assignment. Families wishing to request a different school for the 2026–2027 school year must complete the online School Choice application between April 20 and May 1.
Lastly, we look forward to celebrating our scholars during the:
⭐ 3rd Quarter Awards Program
📅 April 29
🕤 9:30 a.m.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we finish the school year strong and keep our scholars focused, safe, and successful.
Together, we soar.

Dear Families,
We have just six weeks left in the school year, and we are truly in the home stretch. As we move forward, your continued support is essential to ensure our scholars finish strong.
Next week, we will continue OST testing for grades 3–8, with testing beginning promptly at 9:30 a.m. It is imperative that scholars arrive at school well rested, on time, and ready to learn. Please encourage your scholar to ask questions if there is something they do not understand during instruction leading up to testing.
Scholars must also continue completing their required i-Ready lessons:
15 ELA lessons
15 Math lessons
Additionally, we have several field trips scheduled for next week. Please be reminded that:
Scholars must have a signed permission slip on file to attend.
Scholars who are experiencing difficulty following school rules may not be permitted to participate in field trips.
We will also be conducting both a fire drill and a tornado drill. Please talk with your scholar about the importance of taking these drills seriously and following all directions to ensure everyone’s safety.
Finally, thank you for your continued support throughout this school year. We appreciate your partnership and commitment. Let’s work together to make sure every scholar finishes the year strong.
-Principal Ivory
MP Families,
We have seven (7) weeks remaining in the current marking period, and I want to stress the importance of partnering together to ensure our scholars finish strong.
Please take time to speak with your scholar about following classroom and building expectations, including the use of school-appropriate behavior and language. It is also critical that students come to school ready to learn each day.
Our teachers are working diligently to ensure that all scholars are learning required grade-level materials and are being prepared for the OST and i‑Ready end-of-year assessments.
Attendance and punctuality matter. School absences and tardiness have a significant impact on students’ academic growth and development. If your scholar has been absent, please be sure to send a note, message the teacher on Dojo, or call the school to inform us of the reason for the absence.
We also ask that families support students in completing 15 i‑Ready ELA and 15 i‑Ready Math lessons per month. These lessons are included in each marking period grade.

🌟 An Inspirational Note
As we enter the final weeks of this marking period, I encourage every family and scholar to remember that effort, consistency, and belief make a difference. Every day presents a new opportunity to grow, improve, and succeed. When scholars commit to showing up, doing their best, and making positive choices, the results are powerful. Together—school and home—we can ensure that every scholar finishes the year confident, prepared, and proud of their progress.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for trusting us with your scholar’s education. Together, we will continue to inspire excellence and achievement.
