Proclamation from Mayor Kevin Brooks recognizing wrestling Coach Joey Knox and the Cleveland High School wrestling team winning streak of 120-0, the longest of any sport in Tennessee history. He has a career record of 163-3. His teams have won six consecutive state championships, and is currently ranked #1 going into his 7th season. I appreciate being included in the resolution. It’s certainly not the building. Bricks and mortar never won anything. It’s 💯 percent picking the right people, and the six year plan we implemented in 2006/2007 of a three prong approach to create a feeder system with kids club, then to the middle school, then high school. It all starts with the kids club, which I do finance heavily along with others like Mark Smith. The High Calling kids Wrestling Club and the incredible work ethic of Josh Bosken will have 90 kids practicing with the Wrestling Center stands full of parents watching. He spends numerous weekends away from his family traveling to tournaments. They are then passed to Cleveland Middle School’s coach Evan Vermillon and excellent staff who likewise is undefeated the past 6 years. Then to the big show, the high school and coach Joey Knox staff who competes state wide. Coach John Weis keeps our matches at CMS and CHS streamed to our many fans at cleveland wrestling tv on Facebook live. Cleveland opens up at home, December 1st with wrestling powerhouse McCallie. It’s a private school with a lot of money vs a public school with the 3 part feeder system and best coaches. My senior year we opened up with powerhouse McCallie. When I step on the mat Nov 1971 it was 56-0. We won two, me and Jim DiGennaro, I predict this year another royal ass kicking by Cleveland, an example of brains vs bricks, with the public school having the brains. I hope to reciprocate November 1971 in reverse.
In the picture is granddaughter Gincy Pendergrass, starting her senior year and is captain of the wrestling/football cheerleader team. (She appears twice once as a cut-out). If Joey Knox and the Raiders finish it’s 7th year undefeated, Gincy and 3 others who began cheering for wrestling in the 6th grade will have cheered their entire middle school and high school career without ever seeing a cleveland team loose a wrestling match. Another first! On this Thanksgiving day, it’s not the building but the excellent coaches our community should be thankful for. They would be just as good practicing in an abandoned warehouse!

Here is the Percentage of 3rd Graders Failing Tennessee Requirements, according to the TN Dept. of Education. Among our Area Peers, Cleveland Is Dead Last!
1. Bradley 15.37
2. Meigs 17.12
3. Polk 23.03
4. Hamilton 28.85
5. Mcminn 29.60
6. Cleveland 31.67
Cleveland is 106 percent worse than Bradley. Bradley beats Cleveland more than 2-1! At this point the city should have received a warning from the TN. Dept of Education. This has all been reported by the local news media.

New test scores out (standardized test) Cleveland has another 13 school systems moved ahead of us, from 105 to 118 of 140 school systems. We are now in the lower 15.7 of school systems state wide! Dawn Robinson and her minions through George Nerren has now lost 3 times to remove me. It’s adjudicated again by Hamilton county circuit court Kyle Hedrick who dismissed the case as moot. I win, and can move ahead with my better schools plan. The public needs to know Nerren has been on the payroll before of the city school system and negotiated the contract with Martin Ringstaff as one of his “special projects”. If elected, I will not allow TAXPAYER money going to friends of Dawn! I intend to find out what else he’s been paid to do! Again Dawn’s Dirty deeds done dirt cheap sez it best !
