A huge thank you to Taylor Durham for hosting ‘s marketing intern Alvisa Krasniqi at ‘s entrepreneurship center. So grateful for the warm welcome and the insight!
It was a great opportunity to explore one of the world’s leading university entrepreneurship hubs, and spark some interesting comparisons between Tangen Hall and our very own Sears think[box] at Case Western Reserve University.

We’re spotlighting a few of the teams taking the stage this year at the Morgenthaler-Pavey Startup Competition. Join us tomorrow, April 14, 5 to 8 p.m. at Sears think[box] to see the people below (quotes correspond to the photos, in order) compete for a share of $45,000 in funding!
“This idea actually came from a last-minute pitch for ThinkImpact, a fellowship Niousha and I are a part of. But what started as a casual hobby has turned into a great learning and building experience. Getting to work with my best friend has been so rewarding, and I’ve learned a lot about balancing work and building a successful venture.”
Ayati Lala, Thrifty — third-year neuroscience student at ’s
“The firefighting community has been more welcoming than we ever expected. They opened up about real experiences, real risk, and real pain points, and that trust is what drives us. In a few months, we’ve gone from concept to a functioning prototype with an incredible team. We’re just getting started.”
Jack Loomis, Blazecue — fourth-year finance student at
“The most addictive part of building izma.io isn’t the product, it’s watching small iterations compound into something undeniable.”
Johary Rahajason, Izma Technologies — first-year biomedical engineering student at
“Most startups solve problems they imagine, we lived this one. The notary industry hasn’t changed in 30 years, and that’s exactly why we’re here. That’s what gets me up every morning.”
Adam Hamdan, Our Signing Service — fourth-year computer science student at
“Although we see a viable business model and an opportunity for immense value creation, for us it is more about helping people connect and building meaningful relationships.”
Vinlaw Mudehwe, Locus — fourth-year computer science student at
Mark your calendars, the MPSC competition is almost here. On April 14th, founders will take the stage to pitch their ventures. Get a sneak peek at three of them: Adam, Vinlaw, and Eva-Jessy, in interviews with Alvisa.
More shots from the Veale Snyder Fellowship trip to Estonia and Finland—conversations, company visits, and a closer look at how different ecosystems approach innovation.
