Leadership East Texas is preparing to welcome our 2026–2027 class, and we would LOVE to include your business in their Welcome Bags!

We are seeking 30 promotional items from local businesses and organizations to introduce our participants to the incredible businesses and resources that make East Texas such a great place to live, work, serve, and lead.

Pens, tumblers, notebooks, coupons, gift cards, promotional products, or something unique that represents YOUR business….we would love to include it!

Everything was absolutely delicious, and your hospitality helped make our morning even more special as we welcomed this year’s class.

We’re also excited that The Crossing’s owner, Mrs. Valerie Haney, will be a participant in our 2026–2027 Leadership East Texas class! We love seeing local business owners investing not only in their businesses, but also in growing as leaders and making an impact throughout our region.

Today was a special day for me as I had the opportunity to host my first Leadership East Texas event as COO....our 2026–2027 Breakfast Kickoff! ⭐

Looking around the room and seeing leaders representing city government, state government, real-estate, law enforcement, ISDs, small businesses, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations reminded me just how much potential exists within our region.

Our classes officially begin next month, and I am genuinely excited about the year ahead. Bringing together people from different communities, professions, and experiences who are willing to grow, learn, challenge themselves, and become stronger leaders is exactly what Leadership East Texas is about.

Our theme this year is “Leadership Begins With You,” and today was the perfect beginning.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Charles Minton, Mayor of Shepherd for speaking with our class today, along with Dr. Glenn Barnes, superintendent of Cleveland ISD, Mrs. Elaine Guerrero with Health Center of Southeast Texas, and Mr. David Martn with Calvary Medical Center in Cleveland...all graduates of LET. Thank you for taking the time to be part of this day with me and for investing in the leaders of our region.

And a very special shout-out to Valerie Haney, Mr. David Haney & Ms. Amanda with the The Crossing Coffee Shop in Cleveland for catering our breakfast. Everything was absolutely delicious, and you helped make our kickoff even more special!

Today was just the beginning. I cannot wait to see the relationships that are built, the leaders who are challenged, and the growth that happens over the next several months.

Our participants include business professionals, nonprofit leaders, educators, law enforcement, elected officials, city leaders, and community influencers from across East Texas. Families in the Cleveland area have a refreshed place to cast a line after the Leadership East Texas Class of 2025-2026 revitalized and restocked the pond at Cleveland Middle School as a community fishing destination.

The Leadership East Texas Class of 2025-2026 selected the Cleveland Middle School pond as its signature community service project, creating a lasting outdoor destination for families throughout the Cleveland community.
