Multiplying 9 by a single digit is easy!

Hold up your hands in front of you. Fold down the finger that is the number of places you need to multiply by.

If you're multiplying by 4, for example, fold down the 4th finger from the left.

The fingers still up tell you the answer! Fingers to the left of the folded finger are the tens, and to the right are the ones!

In our "by 4" example, there are 3 fingers to the left and 6 to the right. 36!
