Rox Readers are officially off and reading. 🚀

Friday’s Read-a-Thon kickoff had a little bit of everything: a space-themed assembly, a 5…4…3…2…1 balloon launch, prize baskets to work toward, and a new school chant:

“Roxboro, Roxboro, read, read, read!”

And yes, Rox El has a book vending machine where students can use special book bucks to choose a book. A vending machine with books…it’s real and we have proof!

The Read-a-Thon is officially underway. Let’s see how much reading Rox El can pack into the next week and a half.

Want to support Rox El readers? The Read-a-Thon donation link is in our bio. 📚

IT’S BOOK VENDING MACHINE TIME! The month of May means the students’ last trip of the year to the Rita Story book vending machine. 4th and 5th graders went last Monday, 2nd and 3rd graders went today, and K and 1st will go next Monday. We are exceptionally grateful for Mrs. Mary Pat Jolivette’s leadership, service, and dedication to our kids’ literacy and access to books. Her youngest kids will be in middle school next year, so it’s time to pass the baton to another PTA volunteer. Let’s show our gratitude to Mary Pat and ALL of the energy, time, and commitment she has gifted to our students! 🐯📚
