Sister Lucia Vasko, OSU, passed away peacefully over the weekend. Sr. Lucia was a beloved Beaumont art teacher for more than 25 years. She created our four-year studio art program, began our annual Fine Arts Festival, and inspired hundreds of Beaumont women to recognize, nurture, and trust their own creative God-given gifts.
Teaching and living in the spirit of St. Angela, each class, Sr. Lucia began with a simple prayer: “Dear God, guide our minds and our hearts, but especially our hands in this class.”
Her legacy will forever live on at Beaumont in every young woman who continues to discover her gifts through art.
We mourn the loss of such a loving, creative, driven and faith-filled woman and hold the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland in our prayers, as they mourn the loss of their dear sister.
