Building Heights Building Heights creates and manages educational programs in the creative arts for CHUH students 5-12

Pandemic Protocol
The safety and well-being of Heights Middle School Shorts campers, families, and staff are of utmost importance. We will continue to monitor Cuyahoga County and State of Ohio COVID-19 protocols and follow recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) to prevent the spread of the virus. If the situation dictates, we will adjust the camp to a virtual setti

ng, rather than in person. If we must postpone the camp or change HMSS programming for any reason, we will inform all campers, families, and school partners of those changes as quickly as possible.

We love when our students join us on Audition Day! It’s fun and they get to see a lot of actors come through to be a part of their student led production!

Cleveland Heights Mayor, Jim Petras was one of the actors who stepped up and took on the role of a 1970ish gym teacher! Pretty cool for the kids to hang out with their Mayor!

We are excited to announce our first ever student keynote speaker…Ken’Naysia, who will be speaking at our 6th Annual Benefit on October 16.

Ken’Naysia has been with us for 4 years and this past summer, she graduated from our HMSS program. We are really proud of the work she has accomplished with us and we plan to highlight her work that evening.

And they’re no stranger to Building Heights bc they welcomed HMSS students into their space, to create a short documentary called “A Day in a Life of Donna Dabbs” during last years HMSS II camp.

WE’RE SOOOO EXCITEEEEDDDD…

Partnerships are important to Building Heights—and we’d be remiss if we didn’t shine a little light on our friend, Eden Marryshow

Eden is an award-winning director, writer, actor, author, and educator from Flatbush, Brooklyn, whose work continues to make its way onto film festival screens across the country.

We’re especially proud to have played a part in bringing his film, Canyoustandtherainmovie, to GCUFF 🎬 last year. That’s what partnership is all about—creating opportunities, opening doors, and celebrating great storytelling.

Now, we’re thrilled to welcome Eden to our 6th Annual Benefit on October 16, 2026, for an unforgettable evening of Hollywood Glam, film, community, and celebration.

Greater CLE Film Commission Mixers bring people together. That’s the point. We met Darren Lorenzi Jr. and Marcus Alan Ward there and the rest is history. We made a short documentary called The GreenPrint: A Revitalization of the Caledonia Neighborhood.

We are thrilled to have them at our 6th Annual Benefit on October 16 to not only share the work we produced together but the work that they are doing through Long Division Creative, LLC.

We are excited to have Hemlock Films be a part of our 6th annual benefit this year. We always work with intention by collaborating with artist and utilizing our platform to showcase their meaningful work.

Both Director Kara White and Cinematographer Adam White - DoP who were a part of the Coventry
P. E. A. C. E. Park: A New Beginning will be at the benefit to share not only the work they’ve done with us, but the projects they’re working on now!
