As we explored community helpers, our children had the opportunity to meet local firefighters, investigate the fire truck, ask questions, and spend time with the heroes who help keep our community safe. Thank you to our firefighters for creating such a meaningful and memorable experience.

Van Gogh is in full swing at Palms!

As our Artist of the Month, our little learners have begun exploring the work of Vincent van Gogh, starting with one of his most iconic masterpieces, Starry Night.

Our Bambini were invited to observe the swirling skies, bold brushstrokes, and beautiful shades of blue before stepping into an open-ended art invitation. Through sensory play, color exploration, and paint mixing, they discovered how colors can transform and blend, all while building curiosity and confidence through the creative process.

For our youngest children, art is about exploration before expectation. By playing with color, experimenting with materials, and responding to a famous work of art in their own way, they are laying the foundation for creative thinking, observation, and self-expression.

I wonder… what would your ant hill look like?

What began as one curious child noticing an ant hill on our playground blossomed into an entire learning study. At Palms, we believe the best investigations often begin with a simple moment of wonder.

Children observed an ant hill display, searched for ants throughout our outdoor playground, built their own ant hills, and carefully crafted their very own ants. Through play, conversation, and creativity, they explored the tiny world of these remarkable insects while developing observation skills, language, and imagination.

When asked what their ant hill would look like, Jaxson, age 2, proudly shared, “Tall and big.” His friend Penny, age 2, imagined hers would be “a little small and brown with lots of ants.”

Every child saw the same question through a different lens—and that’s the beauty of child-led learning. It all starts with curiosity.

Tiny hands, blooming creativity.

Our youngest artists took a stroll through the garden, carefully picked flowers, and transformed them into nature’s very own paintbrushes. Dipping petals into paint, they explored colors, textures, and the joy of creating with treasures found right outside their classroom.

A scoop of imagination, coming right up!
The “ice cream shop” invitation was made with a few simple loose parts: whipped cream, sliced pool noodles, colorful beads for sprinkles, scoops, spoons, and just a sprinkle of glitter for a little magic.

There were no directions and no right or wrong way to play. Just open-ended materials that invited children to mix, scoop, decorate, pretend, create, and let their imaginations lead the way. Sometimes the simplest provocations inspire the sweetest ideas.
