Yoga for young children is so much more than learning poses. Through playful movement, balance challenges, breathing exercises, and mindfulness activities, children strengthen their bodies while building focus, self-regulation, confidence, and body awareness.

As children move like animals, stretch toward the sky, and practice calming breaths, they are developing important skills that support both their physical and emotional well-being. Most importantly, they are having fun while learning how to connect with themselves and the world around them.

Today, our young yogis stretched, balanced, breathed, and enjoyed every moment of the journey.

Our young scientists explored vegetables in a whole new way! Using magnifying glasses and a microscope, the children carefully observed the colors, textures, patterns, and seeds hidden inside a variety of vegetables.

As they investigated, they shared their theories, asked thoughtful questions, and discovered that every seed has the potential to grow into something new. Through hands-on exploration, the children strengthened their observation skills, curiosity, and understanding of the natural world.

At Palms, we believe learning begins with wonder—and today, wonder was found inside a vegetable!

Invite children into a hands-on gardening experience where they can harvest, wash, and explore carrots through sensory-rich play.

Fill a sensory bin with soil, garden tools, and carrots partially buried throughout. Children can dig, pull, and "harvest" the carrots just like real gardeners. Add a wash station with water, brushes, sponges, and baskets where they can clean their freshly picked carrots and observe the changes as the dirt washes away.

This open-ended provocation encourages:
• Sensory exploration through dirt, water, and texture
• Fine motor development through digging, pulling, scrubbing, and pouring
• Early science concepts as children observe cause and effect
• Imaginative play as they become gardeners and farmers
• Language development through conversations about growing food and caring for plants

There is something magical about getting little hands dirty while learning where our food comes from!

An open-ended art provocation invites children to explore, create, and express themselves freely using thoughtfully presented materials without step-by-step directions or an expected outcome. Instead of focusing on a final product, children are encouraged to play, experiment, problem-solve, and follow their own ideas through the creative process. With access to loose parts, varied textures, colors, and tools, children are given the freedom to imagine, discover, and create in ways that are meaningful to them.

Using “dirt” made from sensory-safe materials, applesauce, herbs, scoops, pots, and garden-inspired loose parts, our children explored a rich hands-on experience designed to engage all of their senses. From mixing and scooping to smelling, squishing, pretending, and creating, the play was full of curiosity, imagination, and joyful discovery.

Sensory experiences like these help children build language, strengthen fine motor skills, explore textures, and make meaningful connections through play — all while having so much messy fun.

Our young preschoolers welcomed some very special visitors into the mud kitchen — the baby chickens! Together, they mixed, scooped, explored, and played side by side, creating the sweetest moments of curiosity, connection, and messy outdoor fun.

Our preschool children became real jewelry makers as they created necklace pendants completely from scratch for their moms. From shaping and designing each piece to adding their own special touches, every pendant was thoughtfully handmade with love.

Inspired by nature, our babies set off on a gentle walk around campus, discovering and collecting flowers along the way. Back in the studio, their bouquets become tools for exploration—painting, pressing, and weaving them into their masterpieces.

This full sensory experience invites children to be part of the entire process—from picking and observing to smelling, touching, and creating. It’s in these moments that curiosity blooms and creativity unfolds naturally.
