A $10,000 grant can go a long way.
This morning at the South Lake Chamber of Commerce (FL) breakfast, highlights were shared regarding how the Community Foundation of South Lake is proud to support Jack & Allie's mission to improve the lives of individuals with special needs and their families through innovative programs, resources, and healthcare training.
This is philanthropy in action. When donors partner with the Foundation, they help fund the people and programs making a meaningful difference right here in our community.
It's just one example of how local charitable dollars, entrusted to the Community Foundation of South Lake, create meaningful community impact.

Stories like this are why we do what we do.
A $2,000 grant from the Community Foundation of South Lake helped bring swim safety and drowning prevention education to local children through a partnership with the City of Clermont and community organizations.
Local giving. Local impact. 💚

Water. Flashlights. Batteries. First aid supplies. Important documents.
These are the essentials many families are adding to their hurricane kits this month—and for good reason. Preparing today can make all the difference tomorrow.
But community preparedness goes beyond what's in our own homes.
The Community Foundation of South Lake's Natural Disaster Fund helps ensure our community is ready to respond when disaster strikes. By supporting local recovery efforts and providing resources where they're needed most, the fund helps our neighbors weather the storm together.
As you prepare your family's hurricane kit, consider helping prepare our community, too. Because resilience starts long before the first forecast.

Extreme heat can be dangerous for everyone, but older adults and pets are especially vulnerable. As temperatures rise, let’s look out for one another. ☀️
Check in on elderly family members, friends and neighbors. Make sure they have access to air conditioning, plenty of water and any help they may need.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible, provide fresh water and avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day. Remember, if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for their paws.
A quick call, visit or thoughtful check-in could make all the difference. That is what community is all about.

Most AI conversations start in the wrong place. They start with a tool, not a decision.
Here's the framework Mighty Manatee IT teaches in every AI Governance session:
Governance. Leadership decides what's acceptable.
Policy. That decision gets written down.
Controls. Technology helps enforce what's already been decided.
Skip straight to controls and you get rules nobody agreed to. Start with governance and everything else falls into place.
One principle ties it together: AI assists. Humans remain accountable.
This Tuesday, Glenn Holcomb walks through the full framework and helps attendees draft their own AI Governance Plan at "AI Is Here. Does Your Organization Have a Plan?"
Tuesday, August 18. 11:30am-1:00pm. The Community Foundation of South Lake, Clermont. Free to attend, just bring your lunch.

Today was more than a ribbon cutting. It was a celebration of vision, partnership, and opportunity.
We were proud to join community leaders for the opening of Lake Technical College's new South Campus in Clermont. This achievement would not have been possible without Sharon Keys and the Lincoln Park South Lake Alliance - LPSLA, whose dedication and perseverance played a vital role in bringing this project to life.
We were honored to celebrate alongside leaders from Lake Tech, the Lake County School Board, Lake County Commissioners, members of the Florida Legislature, the Florida Department of Education, and many others who believe in the power of workforce education.
Thanks also to all for supporting workforce development through grants that are helping expand training opportunities for students across our state.
The future is bright for Lake County, and this new campus will help prepare the skilled workforce our community needs to thrive. Congratulations to everyone who made this day possible! 🎉👏🏽📚🏗️
