Wellington Academy Clermont, formerly Our House Child Development Center, places our focus on meeting each child's basic nutritional, educational, health, and safety needs. The curriculum at Wellington emphasizes on the whole child including social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs along with a balance of activities. We offer a structured environment for children from birth to age 12 that includes a year round curriculum.

At Wellington we believe outdoor activities not only develop their gross motor skills but also provide opportunities to be creative, use their imagination and explore and discover the natural world. The developmentment of oral language skills, understanding of the alphabetic principle, and knowledge of print concepts are the greatest predictors of children’s future reading ability (e.g. Burns et al., 1999; Snow, 2006; Strickland et al 2004). At Wellington we promote a strong literacy program. Our children enjoy being read to as well as exploring books on their own.
