It was during the delivery of a litter of Havanese puppies that I experienced a profound moment of clarity that would forever alter the course of my life. As I cradled each newborn pup, my heart swelled with the familiar joy I'd felt countless times before. But as time went on, I noticed one little Havanese named, Amigo, was different - he was blind. In that instant, I felt a deep, inexplicable connection to this special puppy. It was as if God himself had spoken to me, redirecting my path and illuminating a new way forward. This "Amigo" was to be the catalyst for my Amigo Adventure.
Despite his physical limitation, this pup radiated an unparalleled joy and enthusiasm for life. He had learned to embrace his surroundings with a childlike wonder, inspiring all who encountered him. From that day forward, I knew my mission was to empower myself, as well as others through the transformative power of the human-animal bond - not just with purebred pups, but with all "magical mutts," whether perfectly healthy or facing their own unique challenges. Amigo's joyful, resilient spirit became the inspiration for my Bark, Bond, and Blossom coaching framework that now lies at the heart of my intergenerational canine coaching program.
