Run Club alumni organized “Miles for Mark,” having everyone “dedicate their miles” to Mark, and “celebrate his life and the passion he had for the running community,” this Saturday (6/6), which is his birthday.
People will think about him on their runs, wherever they may be, and write some reflections on Strava.
Please join us in honoring Mark’s memory and love for running.

🎓✨ Continuing our celebration of Clemson Materials Science and Engineering graduates!
Today we’re spotlighting Nyx Mashkow from Islip, NY, graduating summa cm laude with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering and a minor in Chemistry. Nyx’s Clemson journey includes being named a Goldwater Scholar, SPECTRA Scholar, first-generation student, Emerald awardee for the Crystals Program, and an active leader in Materials Advantage, Tau Beta Pi, and Late Night Board Game Club.
From research in textile production, self-healing block copolymers, and cocoa characterization to making unforgettable memories with classmates, Nyx has made an incredible impact on our MSE community.
Next stop: Ph.D. studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the MSE IDGP, where Nyx will work on bio-inspired material innovation in Dr. Jessica Schiffman’s lab as a recipient of the Inaugural Daniel J. Riccio Jr. Fellowship.
Congratulations, Nyx! We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see all you accomplish next. 🧡💜
