Join us on Friday, September 11th, 2026 for the annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Littlejohn Coliseum! This special event is hosted by our friends and partners at Clemson University Military & Veteran Engagemente and marks the 25th anniversary of the tragic attacks that changed our nation on September 11th, 2001.

The event starts at 8:00AM inside Littlejohn Coliseum and symbolizes the resilience and strength of our nation. Join us in paying tribute to the fallen by climbing the Littlejohn stairs and/or concourse, as our partners at Clemson University Military & Veteran Engagement narrate the timeline of events on that fateful day.

This year's theme is: 110 Floors of Resolve; 25 Years Later, Clemson Remembers.

Some frequently asked questions:

What if I can't climb the stairs?

No problem! Join us for the overall program and walk the concourse instead of climbing the stairs.

Can I run the stairs?

No. Unfortunately, the Coliseum steps are not safe for running. You can, however, run the concourse.

Where can I park?

Most attendees will have a Clemson University parking pass and should park in approved lots. For community guests, first-come, first-served parking is available at lots 3A and 3E. See map here: https://iptaycuad.com/app/uploads/2020/01/5474935.pdf. We also ask that anyone parking in 3A please come to the Perimeter Road crossing next to the McFadden Building to cross Perimeter Road to the Coliseum.

Will the event be canceled for inclement weather?

Because the event will be held indoors, it will still take place if it's raining.

Is the Littlejohn Coliseum clear bag policy in effect for this event?

Yes, the clear bag policy is in effect for this event, so we ask that you do not bring backpacks or rucksacks to the event. You are welcome to carry a flag while climbing stairs, if you'd like to do so. Students and Clemson ID Card holders may leave their backpacks outside in a guarded area. All others are asked to leave all non-clear backpacks/bags in their vehicle.

On the warm evening of June 6th, 2026, at the 1917 Club on Fort Jackson, SC, 9 Clemson Veterans were inducted into the South Carolina Military Veterans Hall of Fame in a meaningful ceremony and dinner.

The South Carolina Military Veterans Hall of Fame serves to honor and preserve the sacrifices of South Carolina's military Veterans and educate future generations.

The 9 Clemson men inducted were:

U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. James Adams Pickens (Class of 1917)

U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Ben Skardon (Class of 1938)

U.S. Air Force Col. Bill Austin (Class of 1959)

U.S. Air Force Maj. Rudolf Anderson (Class of 1948)

U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Chalmers “Hap” Carr Jr. (Class of 1960)

U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Aquilla James “Jimmie” Dyess (Class of 1932) - Medal of Honor Recipient

U.S. Army Sgt. Gary Evans Foster - Medal of Honor Recipient

U.S. Army Cpl. James Davidson Heriot - Medal of Honor Recipient

U.S. Navy Lt. Com. Daniel Augustus Joseph Sullivan (Class of 1902) - Medal of Honor Recipient

2 living recipients, Brig. Gen. Hap Carr and Col. Bill Austin, were in attendance along with 16 of our fellow Clemson Corps members.

Maj. Gen. James E. Livingston, Medal of Honor recipient and founding Hall of Fame inductee, was also in attendance and spoke in honor of the attendees.

We extend special thanks to everyone who made this night possible, our inductees and their families, and to for taking such magnificent photos.

Our social events allow us to catch up with our current members, get to know our perspective members, and celebrate the good work we do to perpetuate Clemson's military heritage! We have a busy, eventful Fall coming up, and we can't wait to celebrate Clemson's military heritage and traditions together!

This event is open to all Clemson Corps members, spouses, and prospective members.

June was an eventful month for us at Clemson Corps!

On June 11th, we had our summer board meeting and then held our annual Hail and Farewell dinner. We said farewell to Jane Dyer and Dave Gangemi, who both served on our board and greatly supported our mission.

Jane served on our Heritage Committee and also played a significant role in planning many meaningful events such as our annual Senior Donor Dinner.

Dave served as our Scholarship chair and was instrumental in our mission to provide scholarship and financial support for our cadets and student veterans.

Thank you, Jane and Dave, for your service to Clemson Corps and our military community!!! We hope to see them in future events as we continue to Keep the Tradition Alive!

Additionally, we welcomed our two newly elected board members: Ken Robertson and Matt Ciancarelli!

They will be filling in the big shoes that Jane and Dave have left, and we look forward to welcoming them into our Clemson family.

Clemson Friends and Family,

We'd greatly appreciate your time in reading about Clemson graduate and Army Veteran David LeCroy. David has always been a man of service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1999 to 2006, deploying several times in defense of our Nation.

After his military service, he chose to go to pursue his education at Clemson University, where he graduated in 2022 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. It was here that he met our friends at Clemson University Military & Veteran Engagement.

David has been recently diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIPD), an autoimmune disorder that results in progressive weakness. It's affected his ability to work as an engineer -- but never his fighting spirit. He's joined in his path by his loving wife Tiffany and their children.

Join us this upcoming Thursday, May 21st at 6:00 PM as we plant 498 miniature American Flags on the Scroll of Honor memorial! We do this every year before our annual Memorial Day Ceremony the following Sunday, in honor and remembrance of our 498 Clemson Alumni who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation's way of life.

We can't do it alone! Please share and invite your friends! Last year we had a great turnout, and we'd love to see everyone united in our efforts to pay respects to our Nation's fallen.

On March 28th, 2026 Clemson University held the annual Mile of Honor, a 1-mile walk honoring Veterans past, present, and future who served or will serve to defend our Nation.

That bright and chilly morning was abuzz with an undeniable energy of patriotism and service as we heard remarks from Clemson representatives about the significance of this walk, and the value of patriotism to Clemson University. We were honored to have Hope Stubenhofer sing the National Anthem, and Pershing Rifles C-4 lead our walk.

We walked from the President's Park to the Scroll of Honor, where we placed 498 miniature American Flags in memory of our 498 fallen Clemson Alumni.

HUGE thank you to ALL of our participants, our Student Veteran Association friends for helping set up, our partners at SALUTE Veterans Honor Society, and our Military & Veteran Engagement friends for making this meaningful walk possible!

This upcoming Saturday, March 21st, 2026, students from Clemson's military organizations will be running and ruck marching at the Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico!

The Bataan Memorial Death March was established in 1989 and serves to commemorate and honor the participants of the historical Bataan Death March. On April 9th, 1942, U.S. and Filipino soldiers on the Bataan Peninsula, Philippines surrendered to the Imperial Japanese, who forced the prisoners of war (POWs) forced to march approximately 65 miles under brutal conditions of exhaustion, malnutrition, and unforgivable heat and terrain. The POWs were harassed by their captors, and those who fell out were executed.

Col. Ben Skardon, Clemson '38, was a famous survivor of the death march and would march 8 miles every year at White Sands in honor of his fallen brothers-in-arms. He passed away in 2021, but his legacy still strongly lives on in our community.

This past March 7th, the Clemson 8 was again held as a tribute to Col. Skardon and the 26 known Clemson POWs.

This upcoming Saturday, many students from our military organizations will be marching at the Bataan Memorial Death March, proudly representing Clemson University.
