Shout out to our parents, staff, and the community of Clemson for helping us collect 1000 POUNDS of film plastic for the 2025-2026 NexTrex Challenge! With your help, WE DID IT! Check out the bench that NexTrex sent us for FREE! Our goal was to collect 1000 lbs before Earth Day 2026 and we finished a month early. We are going to try again for 2026-2027 and earn another prize from NexTrex. Please continue to drop-off film plastic at CCDC. We will keep you posted on our progress.

Thanks to Sonya Morton, the Victim Services Coordinator with the City of Clemson Police Department, CCDC has blue and silver pinwheels in our garden beds in front of our building. They are used during Child Abuse Prevention Month to symbolize hope and remind us that all children deserve to grow up in safe and nurturing homes. April is devoted to focusing on preventing child abuse and promoting child safety nationwide. Our blue and silver pinwheels may look really pretty twirling in the wind, but they serve to help us remember that protecting children is a year-round commitment, and participation helps strengthen community efforts to prevent child abuse and support healthy development.

At CCDC we are systematically investing in the future of every child by investing in Professional Development and Conscious Discipline training for ALL of our staff. We are so excited for Angela Cavender (right), CCDC's new Program Manager, to attend the Conscious Discipline for Administrators: Becoming a More Conscious Administrator Workshop in Myrtle Beach this week! Preparing our teachers to teach self-regulation skills to our students starts with preparing our Administrators. Jill Molli (left) is a Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor and a Chief Growth Officer at Conscious Discipline. We can't wait to hear what she learns!
