The Student Ethics and Accountability Table (SEAT) is a student-led initiative that serves at the discretion of OCES and is dedicated to addressing misconduct in student housing as well as student code of conduct violations that impact the university community. SEAT seeks to uphold ethical standards, work through conflict, promote peer-led accountability, and foster a campus environment where every student can thrive.

Hello Tigers!
Fire safety is essential on and off campus. Being aware of how something could be a hazard is the top priority. Below are some reminders of just how harmful incorrect procedures can be:
- From 2017-2021, U.S. fire departments responded to an estimated annual average of 3,379 structure fires in dormitories, fraternities, sororities, and other related properties
- February is a peak month for fires in dormitories-type housing settings
- Prohibited housing items cause nine out 10 of all University housing fires
- Blocked doorways and pathways account for 2 out of 5 fire-related injuries
- Cooking and arson are the two leading causes of all university housing fires
To help ensure our Tigers' safety, these guidelines are present for all University housing locations:
1. Microwaves, toasters, candles, electric scooters, space heaters, and extension cords are prohibited in the residence halls
2. Smoking in University housing is not permitted. Furthermore, Clemson became a tobacco-free campus in January 2016
3. Any tampering with sprinklers or fire alarms is prohibited; this includes hanging lights or flags over/on sprinklers.
4. Overloading of a circuit is not permitted and is very dangerous.
Check out the link below for Safety Sam information on things not permitted in University housing!
