Action Scholars in action: meet psychology and business management (HR) student Saira Malhotra! đź‘‹
Saira's Action Scholars project centers on creating community for siblings of children with special needs. The project stems from Saira's own childhood navigating a growing relationship with her "deepest source of inspiration"—her older sister who lives with a developmental disability.
Saira's long-term plan for her project includes community groups for siblings as well as an educational job-skills program for young adults with special needs. She took a step towards her goals this past week by hosting a "brushes and bonding" event where siblings were invited to create unique canvases, enjoy a light breakfast and meet others who have shared similar life experiences. We can't wait to see your project evolve, Saira!

Students in Eliza Gallagher’s Honors courses don’t just learn mathematics. They create puzzles, test ideas and conduct research that extends beyond the classroom. Gallagher's student-centered approach to teaching and mentorship has earned her the 2026 Douglas W. Bradbury Award! 👏
Presented each year by the Clemson University Honors College, this award recognizes a faculty member who has made sustained and meaningful contributions to the Honors College and its students. Honors faculty, staff and students all attested to Gallagher's ability to foster meaningful connections across disciplines and graduating classes. Congratulations Dr. Gallagher!
