Today, our dental assisting students had the privilege of learning from Dr. Elizabeth Berry, DDS, FAGD as she shared her knowledge about laser dentistry and the incredible technological advancements that continue to shape the dental industry. Our students learned so much from her experience and insight, and we are incredibly thankful she took the time to speak with our class.

On a personal note, today meant so much to me. Dr. Berry and I worked together for about a decade, and she played a huge role in shaping the dental professional I became. She never just treated me like an employee, she took the time to teach me, involve me in her diagnoses, and help me truly understand dentistry on a deeper level. That mentorship had a lasting impact on me, and I am so grateful for everything I learned from her over the years.

It has been something I’ve wanted to make happen for a long time, and today we finally got to bring her into my classroom to pour that same knowledge and passion into my students. Thank you again, Dr. Berry, for investing in the next generation of dental professionals!

A big thank you to Dr. Tennison for spending the morning with our students! We learned so much about orthodontics, and he shared valuable insight into the field and the opportunities within the industry. We truly appreciate him taking the time to invest in our students and their future careers in dentistry.

Mia Morales, a senior at Cleburne High School, is already making incredible strides in the Health Science – Dental Program of Study. Mia has successfully passed her State Board Dental Exam and is currently gaining hands-on experience this spring semester through her internship at Ballard Family Dental.

After graduation, Mia plans to continue working as a dental assistant while completing the prerequisite courses needed to apply to dental school.

Thank you to Hart Orthodontics for donating an intraoral scanner to our dental assisting class! Scanning is an emerging dental technology, and this gift allows our students to gain valuable, real-world skills.
