Hi Grizzly Families,

We wanted to let you know about a small grass fire that occurred on campustoday near the back playground while routine maintenance was being performed on an electrical transformer. The situation was quickly contained, and there was no impact to our students, staff, or regular campus operations.

Out of an abundance of caution we wanted to keep our Grizzly families and staff informed - especially in case you notice a small patch of grass that looks darker than the surrounding area.

Calling all volunteers!!!

If you are interested in doing a little, or doing a lot, on campus this year at Gerard, we hope you'll carve out some time in your schedule to attend the VIPS Inservice next week on 8/25 at 9am. We have so many ways your can be a part of our campus by lending a helping hand and we'd love to plug you in somewhere!

📣Gerard is growing!

Gerard Elementary earned an 86/B in the 2026 Texas A–F Accountability Ratings, including an A in Academic Growth with a score of 90!

Gerard also earned three TEA Distinction Designations for Reading/Language Arts, Comparative Academic Growth and Postsecondary Readiness.

That’s a lot to celebrate! Congratulations to the Gerard students, teachers, staff and families for their continued commitment to student success.

86 overall. 90 in Academic Growth. Greatness is happening at Gerard! 🐝

Hey families!!

To help dismissal run smoothly, we wanted to remind everyone of our dismissal procedures. This helps you and our staff get the kids in the cars safely and securely!

😁Pre - k and Kinder and any older siblings - dismiss from the BACK of the building! Please make one line and pull up to the appropriate cone. Your kiddos will be loaded into the car by an adult. Have your car tags clearly visible in the windshield. Unfortunately, we CAN NOT see them if they are lying on the dash. Have them hanging up from the rear view mirror or standing up in the window. Keep the car tag up through the entire line!

😁1st - 4th grade - dismiss from the FRONT of the building! Please make one line and pull up to the appropriate cone. Do not bypass the line on the left hand side unless you have been told by a staff member to pull on the left hand side to park. Your kiddos will be loaded into the car by one of our safety patrol kids. Have your car tags clearly visible in the windshield. Unfortunately, we CAN NOT see them if they are lying on the dash. It's the burning question on everyone's mind... who is my child's teacher and when is Meet the Teacher! We get it! The Skyward outage set everyone back and we are working sooo hard to get caught up!

Check out our flyer below for all the info about Meet the Teacher. We are working super hard to get all our kids in classes so that you can know who your kiddos' teachers. Make sure you download the Parent Square App as soon as possible so you can have all the most up to date information!!

Weather is not in our favor tomorrow for parties and bounce houses outside. We are bummed! So tomorrow's party plans are unfortunately canceled. Awards ceremonies are still ON and the concession stand (info below) will still be OPEN but there will be NO parties after the awards ceremonies tomorrow. Our sincerest apologies. We are still excited to recognize our Grizzlies and all their hard work tomorrow at our classroom awards ceremonies and we look forward to seeing you there! If you didn't get to pre-register for your tag, make sure you come early to avoid long lines tomorrow!

All students are invited to purchase items at our concession stand! Everything is selling for $1! Grab you a snack after your awards tomorrow!!

If you are wanting to attend a party/awards ceremony for a 1st through 4th grade we HIGHLY SUGGEST you PREREGISTER anyone that will be coming to the parties/awards ceremonies.
