Thank you to everyone who came out to our seminar yesterday! Great time with old and new friends!
Here we see Grandmaster Mathews break down the mechanics of the round kick, a fundamental technique found in nearly all striking martial arts. However, Tang Soo Do has a distinct approach to executing this kick, emphasizing precision, balance, and power. Join us every Tuesday and Thursday night for in-depth instruction and a deeper dive into the art of Tang Soo Do!

Tang Soo Do, like many modern self-defense systems, utilizes the full range of the body’s capabilities—one of the most powerful being the elbow. Known as Pal Koop Kong Kyuk, elbows can be employed not only to strike the torso but also to target other vital areas of the body, making them an incredibly versatile tool in martial combat.
At Edan Martial Arts, we emphasize the importance of using every part of the body to its fullest potential. Join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 PM to deepen your understanding of this dynamic martial art and enhance your self-defense skills.

In 1993, the founder of Tang Soo Do, Hwang Kee, published Moo Do Chul Hahk, which translates to Martial Arts Philosophy. In this book, he outlined the deeper meaning of Tang Soo Do—not just as a system of self-defense or physical training, but as a way of life. He emphasized that martial arts serve as a path to self-improvement, shaping individuals through discipline, respect, and perseverance.
Hwang Kee believed that by embodying these principles, practitioners could become not only skilled martial artists but also exceptional members of society.
At Edan Martial Arts, we share this belief. We invite you to join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 PM to train in both the techniques and the philosophy that Hwang Kee first taught—helping you grow stronger in body, mind, and spirit.
