Ms. Brnich’s Kindergarten Panthers became **math detectives** today! 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️

Our students went on a scavenger hunt to find **groups of objects they could count**, turning our classroom into a hands-on math adventure! 🔢✨

They practiced counting, recognizing quantities, and explaining their thinking—all while moving, exploring, and having FUN!

🧪🫧 **SCIENCE IN ACTION!** 🫧🧪

Our 5th graders in **Ms. Austin and Mrs. Layner’s classes** jumped into their very first **controlled science experiment**—and yes, they got a little messy along the way! 😄🐾

🔬 **Their Question:**
*Does the type of dish soap affect the size of a bubble?*

Our Panthers created their own bubble solutions, blew bubbles, and carefully measured the **diameter of the ring left behind after each bubble popped**. They practiced controlling variables, collecting data, making observations, and using evidence to answer their question.

And, of course… **science is always more fun when bubbles are involved!** 🫧💜🩵

We love seeing our Panthers asking questions, testing ideas, getting messy, and thinking like real scientists!

Students practiced **sorting by color** and using different counting strategies to make sure they counted each object carefully and accurately:

Hands-on learning like this helps our youngest Panthers explore shapes, problem-solve, work together, and make math meaningful and FUN!

Our Kindergarten Panthers are practicing an important learning strategy during read-alouds—**Turn and Talk!** 🗣️📖

Students are working with their partners to answer questions, share their thinking, and practice responding in **complete sentences**. They are learning to listen to their friends, take turns, and confidently explain their ideas.

Are we perfect yet? Not quite! 😉 But **we are getting better every single day!** 🌟

We have a NEW incentive in PE this year called **“The Impossible Shot”**—and our Panthers are already rising to the challenge! 🐾💜🩵

Students earn the opportunity to take the shot by showing **great effort, respect, and sportsmanship** during PE. Several Panthers have already earned their chance to step up to the line…

But last week, we made HISTORY! 🎉

🐾📚 **More Special Stories from Mrs. Pesch’s 5th Graders!** 💜🩵

We loved seeing our Panthers share the special items they brought from home, so we had to share **MORE pictures!** 📸✨

Inspired by our class read-aloud, *Fish in a Tree*, students brought in something meaningful to them and shared the story behind it with their classmates. Each item gave us another glimpse into the lives, interests, memories, and personalities that make our Panthers unique. ❤️

These conversations are about so much more than an object—they are about **building relationships, finding connections, listening to others, and celebrating what makes each person special.**

Thank you, Mrs. Pesch, for creating opportunities for your students to share their stories and get to know one another on a deeper level!
