He arrived Wednesday morning (02/26/2025) at 5:49 AM, measuring 20 inches in length and weighing 7 lbs. 11 oz. His big brother Tripp is excited to welcome Baker home.

In today’s assembly, Mr. Kilgore shared with the student body a brief history of CCHS. As we begin to celebrate 25 years of our school, we were pleased to have Justin Price, CCHS Class of 2003, and Greg Smith, the first student to enroll at CCHS and graduate of the class of 2004, with us. They shared their experiences and reflections on the early days of the school. It was great to reflect on CCHS’s beginnings as we look forward to the future.

We are proud to recognize Sophia Martinez, CCHS Class of 2021, for her leadership in the 2024 Relay For Life of Florida State University, which has been named “Campus Event of the Year” as part of the Pat Flynn Spirit of Relay Awards. This honor recognizes events that embody the passion, innovation, and grassroots spirit of Relay For Life. Sophia is the executive director of the event and leads a robust committee of students that put on the 12-hour event uniting over 60 teams from more than 55 student organizations. Her dedication to this cause stems from her involvement with the Gold Together initiative at CCHS and her experiences with family members affected by cancer. Sophia’s commitment and hard work serve as a great example of leadership and service!

Congratulations to Grayson Hinrichs, Class of 2021, who won the USF Concerto Competition!

Grayson is currently a senior at the University of South Florida majoring in music performance and music education. As a result of winning USF’s biannual Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition, he was awarded the opportunity to play with the wind ensemble as a soloist. The concert will take place on Tuesday, February 4th, at 7:30 PM in USF’s Concert Hall. Grayson has held principal tuba positions in the USF Wind Ensemble, USF Symphony Orchestra, and the South Shore Symphony Orchestra. He is also a freelance music teacher, working with schools in both Hillsborough and Pinellas County. Last year, he was awarded the Virginia Bridges Award for Excellence in Music Education by the University of South Florida School of Music faculty. Upon graduation, Grayson is planning to attend graduate school seeking a degree in tuba performance.
