“I never thought I would be standing up here. I started my Delphi journey 12 years ago at Delphi LA. I remember walking through the halls on my visit day and being amazed by the independent style of study used. I was vaguely aware, as much as a 4-year-old can be, that other schools would not let me read and study as fast as I wanted to.

That is why, even as a young girl, I pictured my graduation here. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to continue the Delphi program at this school.

The High School program has meant a lot to me. From courses like Religion, which gave me a greater understanding of community and humanity, to Marriage Education, which provided me with autonomy through a better understanding of good choices and decision-making, to Documented Research Paper, which saved my life more than once while I was taking dual enrollment classes at SPC, to Fundamentals of Business Law, which taught me how to protect myself and my work as I venture into the music industry, I have found the courses in the Senior program to be the most interesting and valuable. I truly feel that this program prepared me for real life.

Other aspects of the High School program that really stood out to me were the History and Government courses during my Freshman and Sophomore years. By understanding history as a Freshman, I began to understand politics and form my own opinions about historical political patterns. After all, America’s past can dictate our future if we do not work to choose a new path. Truly, those courses single-handedly gave me my first sense of integrity, as I finally figured out what was ethical from my own perspective.

What I’ve learned is that Delphi is something you build for yourself; it is not something you simply reap the benefits of by letting it happen to you. Every day you show up, you have to work to make it your own. Thank you.” - S.Y.

“I still remember the day my parents first told me about Delphi. I had just come back to Florida after living in Mexico for a few years. My mom told me that I was going to be starting at a new school. That was 14 years ago.

To summarize 14 years of my life into a speech is impossible. I have spent too much of my life here to talk about everything this school has done for me, and no matter what I say, nothing will truly do this school or my time here justice. Delphi has taught me a lot. It taught me that I could do anything I wanted to if I really put my mind to it. I know you’ve all heard something like that a gazillion times, but it’s really true.

I realized that with true intention, I am capable of doing whatever I want, which is one of the most valuable lessons I will probably ever learn. Thank you.” - C.D.

Today was Senior Day spirit day and what a day it was! The students had fun dressing up as either a senior citizen or their favorite Delphi senior. These pictures are proof!

“I began at Delphi when I was just 2 years old, and here I am 16 years later, finishing my high school education! I went all the way from preschool, and let me tell you, that is a long journey.

What I’ve learned at Delphi can’t be summarized in a sentence or two. It’s the kind of thing that shows up later — in how you think, how you handle yourself, and what you do next.

The most important thing Delphi did for me was this: It proved to me how competent and powerful I really am. I also learned that you can really do anything you set your mind to.

When I was on my Junior program, I started the Delphi course which really changed my life. It was called “Looking to the Future.” Before this course, I always wanted to be super successful, rich, and happy. But the problem was that I didn’t know how to get there. So when I started “Looking to the Future”, I finally looked . . . at my future! I realized at that moment that I needed to start grinding if I wanted to become great.

From that point on, my life was never the same. Thank you very much.” -S.S.
