The VPK program at Kings Highway will offer 12 VPK classrooms. The program will focus on developing the whole child, including physical, social/emotional, language, literacy, and cognitive development. The district also plans to launch a pilot effort within the program that will include curriculum on basic violin performance skills and focus on literacy and kindergarten preparedness. The first three hours of the day are free for all students with a Certificate of Eligibility (voucher) for VPK available from the Early Learning Coalition. Families may extend the day for an additional three hours by paying tuition of $65 per week. For qualifying families, the tuition may be waived. For voucher information, contact (727) 400-4411.
