CFMS PTA (Clearwater Fundamental Middle School)

Attention, incoming 6th graders!

As you get ready for your next chapter at CFMS, it's time for your summer reading challenge! All incoming 6th graders at CFMS are required to read Restart by Greg Korman and complete the accompanying Escape Room assignment. The assignment can be accessed through the Summer Reading Challenge on Clever or through the attached document and must be completed by August 10.
All students received a copy of the novel at their 5th-grade promotion ceremony. Additional copies are available through Sora (on Clever), your local library, or bookstores.

Just like the main character in Restart gets a chance to start fresh and grow, this is your opportunity to keep your reading and analytical skills strong for your "fresh start" in middle school! As you read, annotate important details about the characters, plot, and themes. We'll use those observations during class discussions and a quiz during the first week of school.

Students attending the CFMS 6th Grade Bootcamp will get a head start on the assignment during camp! There is still space available to attend the weeks of 6/11 or 6/18!

Dear CFMS families,

We are excited to invite you to our 8th Grade Car Parade as we celebrate the incredible achievements of our 8th grade students! Remember, the last day is a early release day and students will be dismissed at 12:45 pm. We will fill 5 lanes and dismiss those in order. When you have pulled into your lane, please text or call your student to let them know where you are. Your student and any sibling will then report to your location to load up.

🎉 Event Details:
Date: Last Day of School May 28th
Time: Dismissal will begin at 12:45. Gates will open at 12:00 pm to line up (come early the line will be long)
Location: ALL VEHICLES will enter through Cell Phone lot (Palmetto) and follow the route (map attached to email)

This special drive-through celebration is a fun and safe way to honor our 8th graders as they move on to the next exciting chapter in their academic journey, HIGH SCHOOL. During the parade, families can wave to teachers and staff, and enjoy some well-deserved cheers and celebration. To help with dismissal and reduce traffic delays, all 8th grade families will exit to the right (north) when leaving the school lot.

🚗 How to Participate:

Decorate your car with signs, streamers, balloons—get creative and show your school pride!
Drive through the designated parade route.
Feel free to honk, wave, and cheer for our amazing students!

Good evening CFMS families,
As shared in our weekly update and previous PTA and SAC meetings, all 6th and 7th grade families will use the cell phone lot or front of school for pick up. The Casler lot is closed due to our 8th grade car parade.
Remember, PSTA busses will NOT run tomorrow afternoon.

☀️🍧 Clearwater Fundamental PTA is excited to welcome Frio's Gourmet Pops back for their LAST VISIT of the school year! 🍧☀️

Students can stop by at dismissal on Thursday, May 21st to celebrate the end of the school year with a sweet treat! 🎉

Frio's will have a HUGE variety of flavors available, and all pops are just $5 each! 🌈😋

We are excited for tonight’s 8th Grade Dance!

The dance will begin promptly at 7:00 PM. Student drop-off will take place in front of the Margarete Heye Hall. Please refer to the attached map for the exact location.

Upon arrival, students will check in with our check-in team by simply providing their name, which will serve as their ticket for entry. Please note that parents will not be permitted inside the dance hall.

Our wonderful 8th grade teacher team will be chaperoning the event for the entire evening to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all students.

Food and refreshments will be served throughout the night. Tonight’s menu includes:

Chicken tenders
Flatbread
Cotton candy
Soft pretzels
Chips
Cookies
Cupcakes
Open soda bar

The dance will conclude at 10:00 PM. Student pick-up will take place in the same location as drop-off. Please plan to arrive on time for pick-up.
