15 players. One Shockwave squad. TDRU - Townsville and District Rugby Union Festival of 7’s — we’re coming.

This year’s team list brings together some familiar Shockwave names with an exciting group of young athletes rising through the ranks and earning their opportunity to pull on the jersey.

There’s plenty of experience in this group — but there’s also a glimpse of what comes next.

Some have travelled with us.
Some have won with us.
Some are just getting started.

A new alternate kit is coming for the TDRU - Townsville and District Rugby Union Festival of 7’s — built for a Shockwave squad bringing together familiar faces, proven performers and some of the most exciting young talent coming through the ranks.

A huge congratulations to Shockwave players Sonrae #18 and Clementine #22, along with future Shockwave Cook Islands player Sophia #55, on their selection in the U19 Women’s Next Gen XVs squads.

Our representative campaign continued at the Australian Schools Rugby and Junior National Championships on the Sunshine Coast, where another outstanding group of Shockwave Rugby Academy players earned the opportunity to represent Queensland Country Rugby Union and Rugby Union South Australia.

We also want to recognise Liam Pretorius. Although he has not officially been capped by Shockwave Rugby Academy just yet, Liam has trained with the academy since our very first day.

Liam was selected in the Queensland Country U13 Junior Heelers and made a significant contribution to their impressive 2–0 series victory over Brisbane Junior Rugby Union City.

These selections reflect the commitment, courage and hard work of each player. They also demonstrate the strength of the pathways available to young regional rugby players who are prepared to work consistently and take every opportunity presented to them.

No matter the jersey, region or team, it is always a proud moment to see Shockwave players competing, supporting one another and living the academy’s values on the representative stage.
